    I seriously doubt apple will ever use USB 2.0 in any product. Its just a bad idea all together - nothing good about it in any way - Firewire 0wnz j00r b0n3z that is if your name is USB2.0. That and why would they advocate another companies high speed data transfer technology when they have their own better implementaion. Yes I know they jumped onto USB(and made it what it is today) but thats slow speed - they had nothing and intel already did the dirty work.

    The only thing you could say they baited and switched on us - was the free email for life - and I swear to your god that either steve jobs said it on stage at the macworld when iTools came out or it was on a slide or something - or it was on the website - That was the only reason I started using it. But all these fools crying about paying for upgrades to free(free as in you didn't pay for it and its a really good piece of software yet you are crying about paying for extra features) software that still works....no they are just that fools, after all you can't squeeze blood out of a turnip and you can't squeeze intelligence out of a moron.

    Does this scare you? Do you cry about it at night when steve jobs is smacking you in your dreams with an iBook laughing incesently? Lemme make it easy for you - Get a new mac and all the stuff thats out - comes free(iMovies/iTunes/iWhatever)...did I type too fast or am I ok? THEN - stay with me here I know its hard for you to keep up when I type fast - if there is some sort of an - UP-Grade - meaning more features/special whoopty-doo's you are gonna have to pay for those(being special and all).... Linux as a desk top getting closer and closer eh? Ya in thirty years when that happens(if) you will be finally able to make dvd's, listen to mp3's/burn cd's, organize your digital photo's, make/edit digital movies all free and easy to do! As far as I am concerned you can ease your wallet into your ass.....Apple doesnt nickel and dime anyone unless you wanna talk about apples ram prices a year ago.

    iTunes 3 requires OS 10.1.4 which is a completely free upgrade/download.

    What dont you understand about iMovie being free - oh ya and while you wait for your linux video editing software to get all the bells and whistles my software had two years ago - we will have even better software - maybe even free still if not cheap...and well worth it IMO - iMovie rocks along with all the other iApps - the fact that they were ever free is nuts... there isnt anything on any other platform that can compete with them - period.

    If Apple would have let the clone vendors keep making macs - there wouldnt be a mac industry today. I actually have a video clip of steve jobs talking about it at a macworld where he talks about how he tried to get the vendors to pay a fair price for using the OS but they told him to fuck off....

    The reason being - as someone stated earlier - who knows about this thing really being patent free - sorta like the whole .gif thing with IBM/Unisys........im not saying its not - but who knows and apple probably isnt willing to do all the legal work just to find out that it could be held accountable for something so they just wasted money having their lawyers do the leg work not only that - it is probably not what apple wants - another buzz word for "normal people" not to understand. I do wonder where the ogg quicktime componet came from tho'

    I understand what you mean by there are no research firms and have been none so NASA always gives and has given better but I think historically - just look at the military and all their new equipment for the soilder all outsourced to california start ups doing what the government couldn't do - private firms would do better - and also - there's no real need to do space exploration thats part of my whole point - its nothing but a waste and if we ever needed to go to space we would have people who would go to school for it and develop an industry for it just like everything else we have. Pop up ads dont really ever bother me - I usually dont visit sites with them - sites that I care about at least.

    All I am saying is - what did we get out of NASA that would couldn't have gotten out of a reasearch firm for a better price. The medium has gotten worse in the process? What people got broadband and cheaper boxes to play with - last time I checked we weren't regressing technology wise. Thats how advancement works - the expensive stuff is expensive then it gets cheaper to where mortals can afford it...? Also I wasnt favoring BASF - I said BASF style .....

    I know that they have definetly returned - I guess what I am trying to say is that it would have happened regardless of NASA and IMO I think it probably would have been developed better by someone else - like a firm(BASF style) trying to reach a specific goal instead of some lab guys at NASA saying - ONE DAY THIS MIGHT BE USEFULL and half of the stuff they came up with sorta is.

    Anyone have a good link to a site that can break down how some of the most common used radio technology works? Like good explinations of how all the ideas like the spectrum work and all the terminology and perhaps how antenna's(different kinds) work?

    Hardly magical walking on the moon and by that I mean hardly any point of it other than the fact to say - we did it. Im not a big fan of NASA period......sure they have come up with some technology but I dont think there has been much of a ROI as they like to say ..... If you ask me its a complete waste of resources for the most part.

    Then why doesnt anyone sue the air lines for having tubes of metal a few hundred feet long? Filled with jet fuel fly over head when they are known to crash every once in a while or even be hijacked and crashed into highly populated areas? Not only that - what are the chances it would actually hit someone/something over an air plane being that air planes fly to populated areas, ya know where the people are?

    cell phones put out about 100 times more energy than 802.11b. Both are thousands of times less powerful than a standard microwave. I'm not one of those people who thinks cell phones cause cancer but the fact is microwaves are shielded.

    Because with that near monopoly you also got new technology or near new - im guessing its not ass old like the us or they went balls to the wall and upgraded everything all at once knowing that they would make up for the cost of upgrading - hence their monopolistic ways.........here who wants to pay a bunch of money to upgrade - the phone companies that is..

    Do you think that there are special internet connections made by the phone company just for you at the dslam and that its not shared by all your neighbors in almost the same exact way that cable is? Do you think that if it becomes bad enough that the cable company won't get more bandwidth - and define slow - More often than not when peopel say "slow" they mean cable isnt going as fast as it used to be - ie here I use to pull 1 MEGABYTE/down - after a few people signed up it went to about half and then it stayed at 1.5Mbits - but its still 1.5Mbits - Why do people get this notion that the phone company has this magical internet connection JUST for you is beyond me...
