Dart Machinery and World Products make better BBCs than even GM did. But... still glad i've got my 'early' ('65 396) big block chevy motivation in the garage.
Fscking email from knuckleheads. I find i'm most productive when i turn off Outlook and turn on iTunes. Unfortunately my job description isn't only to create code, but to also be the expert in just about every aspect of the hardware so i get all the dumb-ass questions from people.
"not too many truck drivers are geeks or hackers"
hey! i resemble that remark! i'm a hacker and a pickup truck driver (need something to haul the drag racer to the track) i agree that the diesel trucks seem to get more bang for the buck, too bad i can't stand the stink of diesel engines though.
of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. competitive sportsman drag racing is as much an art form as it is a science. most folks who don't do it don't realize the subtle things that go on: waiting wars between racers waiting for the other guy to stage, deep staging to throw off your opponent, sandbagging your dial-in and lifting at the finish line to try and cause the other guy to breakout, lots of stuff. at the sportsman level it's all about consistency and R/T.
heh. "a guy i know strapped a Jato to his Dodge Dart out in the desert...." i'd be willing to bet it's more like 275. $3000 for a 50 hp increase is a pretty lame ROI. i could spend $3000 on a 6-71 roots blower for my big block Chevy and probably get at least 200 hp increase....
I've just recently returned a CD/MP3 player for my wife's Jeep. It was a xmas present last year and now that the warranty is most likely up, it won't play CDs anymore. I also have a Sharp 25" tv that i bought about 6 years ago that has some color washout near the bottom of the screen. My previous tv was an old Sony Trinitron from ~1980. That TV went from VA to NH to school in northern NY (where i used to leave it Headline News 24/7 when i wasn't watching anything else, even when i wasn't there!) then back to NH to start my professional career. Finally the tube went, but someone took it off the curb before the trash pickup, so hopefully it's still out there. I've also had 2 non-sony VCRs crap out in less time than the Sony that i've now had for 4 years. My experience with Sony has always been topnotch.
Nvidia has a license to make QPI-based chips. whether they have any real plans to do so.....

NitroMETHANE (or 'fuel' as we call it), not nitrous oxide (or Nawwwss as the ricer's say) and don't forget the burning rubber stench!
