Well I work for a mid sized media company and our IT dept. said no new Macs. The layout people went bazerk as did some of the artists but when it came down to it Quark runs on the PC. Our prepress is all PC now, RR Donley is very PC. Why the Macs? The PC's work just as well if not better & faster for what were doing.
Now Quark being customer hostile! Oh god! Those a**holes need to be bought by Adobe or Macromedia and brought into the fold real quick. In all my years in publishing I have never heard of such crap. We used to do a lot of multimedia work with a program called mTropolis which Quark bought and then killed. Asked why and they outright lie and say "customers didn't like it!" WTF! Macromedia would have been a better fit. Then don't get me started with the problems with serial numbers and site liecense. God if I could only get everyone in the company to come to Adobe InDesign.
Begins and ends with Suicide for the Apple ][+ This had to be one of the worst games out there. I remember going to Software City and seeing it on the rack of new software. I at the time was all of about 9 and didn't really understand the whole concept of suicide so I broke the bank and paid $35 for the damn thing. I took it home played it once and thought THIS IS HORRIBLE. The game play blows, the concept is morbin and the graphics pretty much suck. Played once and then lent out to a friend.
Another thing I remember is that it was packaged in a sandwich bag since back then it was too expensive for companies to print boxes) The first REAL package I can remember was either Castle Wolfenstien or Hard Hat Mack. I remember having to HAVE the Hard Hat Mack game just cuz of the packaging.
