News flash: Ricochet has been back in operation in San Diego and Denver for months now (I think those were the only coverage areas before they went under anyway). The price is still cheap (~US$45/month for ~200K unlimited) and their coverage area is RAPIDLY expanding.
If this link is an actual example of the technology, what's so new about it? All it looks to be is a javascript popup with no menus/status bar. I use IEPK (another IE popup killer).which is not smart, all it does is block all popup requests unless I hold down ctl when I click.
So what's the big deal?
Let's keep in mind that the "pods" from early days of the program did not merely fall directly down to earth. You DO have to be a rocket scientist to calculate the exact trajectory that will allow the vessel to re-enter earth's atmosphere without a) skipping off into space or b) burning up on re-entry.
I have a Nokia 3590 with polyphonic tones. You can use pretty much any midi file you want. All i do is upload the midi to my website, then browse to the file in the phone's web browser. It says "Tone Received". I've got Foo Fighters, the WHOLE Mario Bros theme song. It is definitely a very cool feature.
I, for one, would like to know WHICH credit card processor it was that got hacked so that I know not to use them in the future. Leave it to CNN to leave out the important stuff.
I can't believe we still listen to this guy...

Windows XP is not an operating system. It is a windowing system that sits atop an operating system much as KDE or Gnome sit atop Linux.
Let's not forget what a whack job this guy is. After reading his "Windows is not an OS" argument, I can;t take anything he says seriously.
This isn't entirely true. The CA state government has terribly mismanaged funds in recent years. While state revenue increased by about 20%, state spending increased by almost 40%. The problem is, when they have the money, they throw it away, and when they don't have it, they still throw it away but just up the taxes.
We just narrowly missed having our car tax (registration fee) TRIPLED. The only reason the governor didn't sign it is because he wants the republicans in the Assembly to vote in his budget, which includes increases on just about every other tax in the state.
I guess that's what you get when the democrats are in charge.
The RIAA represents AOL Time Warner (parent company of CNN), EMI Group, Sony Corp., Vivendi Universal and Bertelsmann AG.
Heaven forbid CNN should report the *truth*. Kind of surprising to see the democratic..err..um..cable news network report a storry that FAVORS big *evil* corporations.

I hope that's what polyphonic implies...)
