  1. Re:I wonder how many on 35% Consumers Want iPhone 5... Sight Unseen · · Score: 1

of those 35% would put down money now - sight unseen - for it, as opposed to just saying that they "will" buy it.

Also, the article does not say where the survey took place - if it were on, and linked to by, a Mac user site, it's perhaps unsurprising that the result is what it is.

How many of those people are recently past their contract or near the end? That's definitely driving my decision. Personally, I "will" buy an iPhone 5 to replace my 3G. The 3G is over 3 years old tech at this point and showing its age. It's possible I'll get the iPhone 4 but I'll wait until the 5 is released to take advantage of any price drop. I think it's prudent more than anything else and not representative of widespread fanboism. If anything, it would be silly to buy a iPhone 4 now considering you'll be able to get a 5 at the same price a few months from now.

  2. Droid and Lucsfilm? on Verizon's Challenge To the iPhone Confirmed · · Score: 1

I noticed during the commercial and from the website that "Droid" is licensed from Lucasfilm? I didn't realized they owned a trademark for that term.

I played the demo for RE5 and for me it doesn't advance the series from RE4 years ago; RE5 feels like RE4 will nicer graphics. I think Capcom missed an opportunity to further develop the genre they popularized. The control scheme from RE4 was definitely an improvement over past series but now 4 years later it just feels cumbersome and tedious.

  4. Re:Very easy to know when it's off on Processor Throttling In Windows XP · · Score: 1

I had the opposite problem. My wife complained for the longest time that her work laptop was running sluggish. I assumed it was a combination of the paltry memory installed in the laptop and the amount of additional software on the machine (virus, hard drive enryption, etc..).

After the laptop nearly burned my leg, I realized the fan wasn't working which caused the CPU to throttle down. It couldn't find documentation but SpeedStep scales the CPU speed depending on temp. Once the fan was replaced, the performance of the laptop was much improved.

  5. Re:Doesn't look promising on 'Matrix Revolutions' Opens Today · · Score: 1

This movie was a big dissappointment for me. I liked the 2nd move and I was really excited for answers to many of the questions I had. Unfortunately, I feel this move left me with more questions than anything. Granted, there are movies that end ambiguously in an attempt to get you to draw your own conclusions (e.g. Memento) but Revolutions just left me confused. I think more time should have been spent filling in many of the plot holes instead of wasting film on the overblown, drawn-out action scenes.

  6. Re:Godfather DVD's are out already... on Indiana Jones To Arrive Again in 2005 · · Score: 1

I think the poster was alluding to the fact that most people, including myself, only like Godfather I & II and aren't going to be forced into buying the box set. Personally, I refuse to buy the box set because it is way over-priced. It works out to approx. $27 per movie! There is only one extra disk (which doesn't amount to much material over 3 movies) in the set which does not justify the extra cost. Comparatively, the Indiana set works out to $17 per movie. A much better deal all in all.
