I am not for gun control, I am dead set against it but.....
This is needed not only for the average citizen but for the police as well, it is as necessary as a saftey is on a modern gun.
Not getting shot by your own gun is a good thing. You never know how the situation will transpire when you need to use it and this is the one thing to keep the bad guys from using the gun on you.
BTW I have seen several articles in assorted gun magazines and it does seem like a good idea.

The individual should also have the report of the DMCA violation sent to them so if they choose they can fight the originator in court. In most cases the DMCA violation is fact, and is piracy of copyrighted materials. That's the risk you take being a pirate. I think they've been pretty laid back considering how the cable company reacts to piracy.

Domains are useless for everyone but superhuge megabranded international companies. I would say the thing we need more than a fix on the lawyers is a fix on the system, perhaps a decentralized DNS system with aliases assigned to PGP keys or something, dunno just a thought.
