In that case, lets steal the MacMini as well.

  2. old news on BeOS Ready for a Comeback as Zeta OS · · Score: 0, Offtopic

Not to be a dick, but this is old news. I have a pirated ISO of the OS, I've been aware of it for a while, and I'm sure many of you guys have too. It is kinda of dissapointed that its finally being slashdotted.

  3. Re:Dumbest. Editor. Evar. on Carbon Dating & The Shroud of Turin · · Score: 3, Insightful

As an agnostic and a humanist, I feel nobody has the right to chastise other's for their beliefs. That goes for everyone, including CmdrTaco and the person offended by CmdrTaco. Though I admist that CmdrTaco's comment is a statement of opinion and not chastisment (but it could very well be interpretted as that), whilst the anoynmous coward's above statement is a blatant attack. so, to the autor of "Dumbest. Editor. Evar.", thus spake Zarathustra: "STFU".

  4. You have the wrong idea of Goldstine on Herman Goldstine, ENIAC Developer, Dies at Age 90 · · Score: 1

Goldstine did not create the ENIAC or EDVAC. He was just the Army supervisor for the project. Mauchly and Eckert designed and built the ENIAC and designed the EDVAC until Von Neumann and Goldstine stole the credit and the project from them. It was because of Goldstine's greediness that people say "Von Neumann architecture" and not "Mauchly-Eckert Architecture".

"Give credit where it's due" - Dante (Hicks)
Mauchly and Eckert are hardly reckognized for being the fathers of the first two electronic automatic computers. All Goldstine did was a few math problems, sign checks, and steal credit.

  5. Steve Jobs + Pixar on Pixar Eclipses Sun with Linux/Intel · · Score: 1

Is Pixar still owned by Steve Jobs? Shouldn't they be using xserve? how 'bout some NEXT servers? why not an Apple ][ ? (just kidding on that last one....) Not that the servers they are using now are bad, its just that there has to be a reason Steve's company isnt using his computers. Just a thought.

  6. Backwards Compatibility on Should The Next Windows Be Built On Linux? · · Score: 1

Disregarding all the other comments: If what the article say IS true (I'm not saying it is), wouldn't there also be some backwards compatibility issues with Windows on top of Linux? Regarding all the comments: No matter what, I will never consider Windows an operating system. It may be a system, but it cannot operate.
