Yah, that always works, they never put money back into where they sucked it from (aka dont shit where you eat) - Here in Nebraska, they paid for this monstrous sports center in Lincoln with nothing but taxes on cigarettes. Mediocre is a lot better than NONE. And the rich elite in the UK carry their own separate insurance so they don't have to sit in the room with those terrible commoners. So mediocre for most, superb for a few. Better than near 50% of the country with NONE.
What is wrong with universal healthcare (Oh, I'm sorry, you used the negative-connotation spin-phrase "socialized medicine")? I think the time is long past that we should have such a thing. We are supposedly the most advanced civilization on the planet, but I have to worried about economic death if I, or someone in my family, gets seriously sick or injured? Something's seriously wrong with this picture.
Over the last ten years, I've seen my health coverage go from a nice comprehensive health care plan with nice drug co-pays (And I did not abuse it, I sought health care only when I truly needed it, not for each ache & pain), to now it's a shitty High Deductable plan (The first $4000/year comes out of my pocket, then 20% of everything after that) coupled with a Health Savings Account (At least that $4000 is tax-free money), with no drug co-pay. I'm paying nearly $200/month for the sucky High Deductable plan, and have come no where near the $4000 yet, thank God. So basically I'm throwing my money away.
After watching SiCKO, and seeing how things work in those "horrible" places with Universal Healthcare, and seeing how much bullshit propaganda I've been fed over the years about how "socialized medicine" is a horrible thing and you'll rot before you get treatment. It's all bullshit to feed big pharma and it's killing America. You're not pissed? You should be.
I use Linux, but I use Windows more. Not that I'm proud of that, but Windows pays the bills, Linux is just for fun. I also do not use Microsoft Money or anything similar.
But, sorry to be mean here, but anyone who would even consider paying $5500 for a fucking TV needs to look at their priorities for a while, and perhaps needs a good whack in the head to help align things. Invest that money, plan for your retirement, do something good for the world with that money, make paper airplanes out of it and throw it off a building. Something, anything, except spent it on a fucking TV so you can sit on your fat ass. $5,500 for a TV? Get a reality already. I doubt even Warren Buffet has a $5,500 TV. If that's all your life consists of, it's pretty shallow and unneeded.
Hell, their VoD service doesn't even work for Windows XP x64 Edition users.
And on normal 32-bit Windows, if you keep a smaller C: partition and keep all your data on a D: partition, there's no way to tell their player to not write the file to your C: drive. So, on both by 32 and 64 bit machines, I cannot watch their damn VoD.
There's already been a game for Slow Ride for decades - it's called "Can the D.J. get done taking a shit before the song is over?" If there's dead air at the end of the song, you know the DJ lost the game.
Slow Ride sucks. I hate it. The only reason it's still on the air is because DJs have to defecate too. Every time you hear it, you know that the DJ is taking his kids to the pool while you listen. Definitely turns me off too the song.
