For instance, there's something called "forced ranking" where 10% of their employees with the lowest scores on their reviews are automatically fired each year.
That was considered genius when Jack Welch instituted it during his years as CEO of General Electric.
The only thing I see to support your claim that you "moved a very partisan crowd in my favor" is a single sentence:
Fishman, perhaps sensing that many in the room were swayed, told voters to consider him, despite his long odds.
That said I wish you luck, it sounds like the other two candidates are both complete jerks: "Don't vote for him because he's a REPUBLICAN"..."Oh yea? Well don't vote for him because he's a DEMOCRAT". Yup, that's how I evaluate a candidate.
Plus this is completely off topic and doesn't belong on slashdot in the first place.
Oh.. I don't know the first passed health care reform in almost 100 years.
Ummm, no. Medicare, Medicaid, many, many other reforms since. And that ignores all the initiatives which have been undertaken at the state level. Obamacare is failed legisilation that needs to be fixed.
Ended Don't Ask Don't Tell.
Yea, he signed the bill that ended Clinton's executive order, I'll give him that.
Restarted the hunt for and killed Osama bin Laden.
Bullshit. The hunt was started by Bush and never stopped.
Pretty much the same as his predecessor. The 911 attacks were a result of eight years of capitulations by Clinton. The country was in a recession in 2001 and the banks were already running out of control because of changes that were signed into law in 1998.
And anyone who thinks Romney is the same driver as Bush doesn't have a clue.

Remember where the 47% video was claimed to have come from? Jimmy Carter's unemployed grandson spent all of his time searching the web for anything he thought might be insulting. After he "found" a snippet of the video on You Tube he hunted down the person who posted it (I don't buy that story, but let's assume it's true for now).
Same thing here, people follow Romney, listen to Rush Limbaugh, etc. hoping to catch a tidbit that can be used to insult the candidate.
1 and 3 won't happen, certainly not within 15 years.
There are places in the country that have water shortages but most places have plenty, so whatever action is taken it will be from a local water authority. In places that need to conserve water there are two possibilities: Restricted activities (e.g. no watering your lawn even if the neighbor's kids were playing on it), and possibly a two tiered pricing structure (e.g. first X gallons per person in household at low price, above that at a much higher price). Two-tiered priced only hurts the middle class though, poor don't pay so who cares, and rich can afford it.
The article blames Congress/RIAA, not the artists. I would think more popular tracks get played more often. But who decides how often a track is played? If it's on-demand then pay per play isn't so bad (that's what subscribers are paying for so pass some of it along to the artists), if Pandora is just broadcasting a playlist like a local radio station then the complaint is more valid.
People vote for the candidate who is closest to what they support. In order to get 29% the 3rd party candidate will need to offer something closer than either of the other two. That's not likely to happen as long as the two major parties try to get as close to the center as they can without pissing off their respective lunatic fringes.
I suppose people can use their twitter handle. But $36/yr for essentially nothing? The moron isn't the one who thought it up, the moron is the twit who buys it.
The majority of respondents said Mitt Romney would be better with the technology industry, with 64 percent favoring the former governor from Massachusetts, and only 41 percent favoring the incumbent president. (The reason the percentages don’t add up is because respondents were allowed to choose more than one option.)
Unfortunately pretty much every/. post for the next month will have idiotic comments like GP (although I do agree with the part about Obama being stupid, that was obvious 4 years ago).
The case may undermine a legal doctrine the Federal Circuit has adopted to extend the rights of patent holders. Under the so-called conditional sale exemption, patent holders can enforce their rights even after making a sale of the covered product. The doctrine has given patent holders the power to enforce restrictions against downstream purchasers...The Obama administration’s top Supreme Court lawyer, Solicitor General Donald Verrilli, told the justices that the conditional sale doctrine is inconsistent with the 2008 ruling. Even so, Verrilli said the court should reject the appeal because the Federal Circuit didn’t focus on the conditional sale issue in the Monsanto case.
Any drilling would be far away from a campus, and there's never been any evidence that the water is harmful.
The biggest problem PA has with gas leasing is that former Gov. Rendell spent most of the lease money in one year trying to balance his budget.

I am intrigued by your comment and would like to subscribe to your newsletter. Well played.
You could build it bigger. But they will be the most expensive vegetables you've ever imagined.

think he's mostly right. Microsoft has only been able to prosper through monopoly tactics and those won't work anymore.
Schmidt tried that too while he was at Sun, but MS beat him. Which is one of the reasons he hates Microsoft.

One has nothing to do with the other.
This paragraph proves that this guy has no idea what he's talking about.
It's possible he's just an Apple shill, but more likely you're correct. That's an absurd statement.

More at 11.

And that link has what to do with Romney? (Hint: Nothing)

Yup. And another day of milking the publicity doesn't hurt either.
Have you ever compared the original depiction to the modern reports? The ancient drawings and writings are, shall we say, subject to interpretation.
Like last time? Oh wait, that never, ever happened.

Big oil has nothing to do with it. Change the pollution standards to emissions per mile instead of PPM and the problem goes away.
The summary has a different link than the (broken) one I submitted. Try this one
