But what is a movie? A canvas that the producers paint their artistic vision on perhaps.. like it or leave it, they wanted to tell the story and to get it out to as many people as possible.
Could the same story have been told with less ass-kicking scenes? Sure, but then again we all love it so thank god(no pun intended) its there!
Nothing that is so, is so. ~ Shakespeare. You can analyze the world in many ways... try to find out what Bush is really up to, not just what the media says. You can question the symbolism in movies, songs, even your dreams. Heck, you can even question existance.
The point is not to second guess everything over and over, but to find the truth as it relates to you.
and besides, people are still in the infrastructure phase. Are you going to spend years writing a program without adequate hardware to run it on? Robots are the same, if the robot doesn't have many physical capabilities than you probably won't make the robot that intelligent.
The most popular AI right now is probably seen in video games, and that is barely intelligence. More just responses to game stimuli.
I had always wondered what the code would look like to simulate the human brain.
When it comes down to it, the brain has to write its own code based on exploring new objects in the world, synthesizing patterns, and accessing memories to make decisions.
In other words we have corporations snooping in on our transport medium. It's a dangerous slippery slope, what's next... I turn on my computer and it says "Your internet may be monitored for quality assurance purposes."
Can you do things like embedd Open Office into Evolution? That would be spiffy. I have Office XP at work and MS Word has hijacked the standard editting for e-mail messages in Outlook.
Except that serious thought DOES goes into POP culture.
MTV isn't run by teenie boppers, it's run by Harvard grads who know how to bleed money out of sheep-like hordes of teenagers.

Or there will be an apocalypse and the geeks shall rise again!
The hacker sat back and looked at his new mp3 collection, 'This is good' he exclaimed!
Since no American is educated about their money, it could happen.
Well hey, a lot of americans aren't educated about a lot of things, why should money be any different?
is the next story for today, "How to use your Linux machine for forgery?"
:(
This is off the norm, with the decline in jobs I don't see too many 20s!
Awww come on, don't you want to see The AniWars?

Iraq anyone?
Except they would then take your songs and flood the p2p networks with them.
Later that day, micq gets lynched by hordes of angry kazaa users.
Hey, it's like Iraq... attack first, find no weapons of mass destruction, and apologize later! It's almost laughable! ... if it wasn't so scary.
Hey, true that.. at least these nerds can get jobs in this economy.
It's like Flint Michigan after General Motors left, everyone lost their jobs and became prison guards.
Perhaps, but I would allow people to download as many Usher mp3s as they wanted so that I could be free to download my taste of music.
Hey buddy, could you do me a favor and just... *whack*
*load apple 2 on the wagon*
one horrendously long article, screw RTFA!
That's one degree of difference with .NET!
They'll also clean themselves in front of you without any shame.
And let's not forget the robot dogs who eat other robotic dog-droppings!
interesting concept, hefty price tag!
WinME? I feel for ya... I would endure a thousand browser crashes on 2000 or XP to avoid any pull-the-plug job on ME.

Oooh, insightful!
Did you ever watch UHF starring good ole Weird Al? Well that movie covers the same monopolyptic concerns that you're raising.
