You're feeling weird because you've planted both feet at the top of a slippery slope. This is a step outside principles that Slashdot has upheld very well sofar.
The fact that someone can't be bothered to jack up their threshold to 1, and is suddenly offended, is no reason to begin censorship. Period. Increase Slashdot's moderation system's sophistication some other way. I feel like an easily offended person's extreme laziness is contributing to a reduction in MY options, and I'm getting mad.
Back in the DOS days, with my whopping 8mb memory, my autoexec.bat would create a 500k ram disk and copy utilities like pkzip, list, zdir et al to it. Made the machine really snappy! It's no longer useful due to good disk caches.

I gleaned just two pieces of information from this article. Intel will put two new features in its chips, and members of the ACLU are worried about the chip IDs. It's not clear whether all of the doomsday speculation that follows is part of Intel's master plan, or just extrapolated predictions by unknown persons and a journalist with a deadline. Where is the support for all of this? Are Intel's statements confidential? Why do I torture myself by clicking on these zdnet links???

I clicked the innocuous little b a couple of times, now how can I remove those links from my navigation bar?
My client grabbed a DES block at 17:17, finished it, sent it back to the server, and promptly went back to working on RC5.. go figure.
Mostly beige with some sort of molded artwork near the floppy slot. Those Archys are ok, but the time machine looks like some kind of Edsel!
