I got a chance to *try* to use the back end product the other day. I got as far as trying to enter my social security number into a three character wide textbox that automatically shrinks the font to fit. Ended up about two pixels high and totally unreadable. And that's even before we got to the point where, in applying for insurance for a family with mixed incomes, you had the choice of income from "employment", "self-employment", or "dependent" all mutually exclusive.
I give up. My time is worth more to me than the annual fine.
Ok, you asked for it. But this is definitely what I now know is an autistic version.
Early in high school, I recognized an inverse relationship between bra cup size and the need for women to perform academically. My theory was that this was a holdover of evolutionary misogyny- that women with more assets had other ways of getting good grades from male teachers and/or extra tutoring help from male students.
Apparently you don't understand the bell curve and standard deviation either.
For the 16% at either end of the bell curve, there are indeed large gulfs in how they learn, and those will be the ones hurt by Common Core, because they won't be served by Common Core, at all.
For the 68% in the center, you are absolutely correct.
I've been told I was an idiot for signing a contract for a $4000 timeshare without a lawyer reading it first. After the timeshare was foreclosed upon in 2002 and they just sent me my 2014 bill for maintenance fees.
On second thought.....I was an idiot, and that's what the entire timeshare industry is built on, sucking idiots dry (I'm just not enough of an idiot to have paid those maintenance fees in the last 12 years, and they'll never get another penny out of me).
The one that gets me, as a New Evangelism, Marxism Tendance Reinhard Catholic, is the Roman Catholic Church itself. Hopefully now that publishing rights and revenue streams have been taken out of the hands of the Vatican Secretary of State, bloggers who provide MP3 readings of documents for the blind won't be nailed with cease and desist letters anymore.
The actual "literature" chosen barely qualifies as such. From a reduced, ideologically derived vocabulary to a limited set of stories to choose from, it's as if George Orwell's Newspeak has stepped into our schools.

If I had mod parent up, this. Isn't easier just to paint them?
The problem, therefore, being one of branding rather than action?
Hint- the fact that they lied doesn't matter to me. The fact that they're reading this post, in building my dossier, does.

That the "Affordable" in "Affordable Care Act" is as much of a lie as any other government title. ONLY an idiot would call this Affordable.

Popularity is what leads to media sales rather than media piracy.
It means turning the opposite wall into a mirror by analyzing the reflection off of white paint.
Doesn't have to be *visible* layers, and then you can just colorize.
Ah, you just hit upon one of my pet peeves.
If we're playing name that logical fallacy, then argument from authority is in and of itself an argument from authority fallacy.
Why?
Because logical fallacies are an authority that limits rational thought.
Having said that- you're completely right, though I think most atheists would classify theistic evolution as just another form of Intelligent Design.
For that matter, who the heck would pay $8 for a print magazine these days?

With modern computers? Sure, maybe a month is too soon, but 6 years? I work on 6 month jobs that pull in more data that gets reported on.
Better yet, it's a misinterpretation by, wait for it.....
A Roman Catholic Priest, and thus, a creationist!
Nah, he couldn't possibly know what the Bible means......
Even by your link:
This isn't exactly "news". More like "oldz".
And here I was going to respond "1964 called, they want their news back".
Seriously, this is cool, but astroengine's teaser above "For the first time" is nowhere near correct.
You can't standardize education because you can't standardize people.
The problem isn't with the grades, it's with the utter lack of acknowledgement that different students learn in different ways.
"it's easier to find the one fanatic $1,000 [ Traditional cell phone cost per year] donor than find 100 $10 dollar supporters)"
But finding the 100 $10 supporters, is a measure of how worthwhile the project is going to be from a popularity/fame standpoint.

If you are Catholic and care about the faith, or are a blogger who wants to stick up for right-to-quote from powerful religions, sign Brandon Vogt's petition for a clear ruling now that the curia has changed
Those programs have been defunded in favor of Common Core.
At 2x the cost for 4x the deductible, yes. So it's still a ripoff.
On any device intended for a child, use parental control software to block google play.
Pretty easy.
I want a diesel electric school bus.

And thus, a step away from universal liturgy into ideological reduced vocabulary.
