Why does it have to look spectacular? I want game play and I want it too look like a game, if I wanted to see spectacular real life Id take up paint ball or car racing or pull out a gun and start shooting people.

    >I love retro games. I just don't see how any games on those systems can be substituted for modern online multiplayer games.

It all depends on what you get out of it. I personally never liked 3d multi player games so no loss to me even my son who is 13 loves old school games. YES he does like to play multi player games BUT the games he spends most time on are basic games. I prefer a game to look like a game and not real life, so I can immerse myself into the "fake game" world.

Well that's one way to kill the first sale doctrine or second hand market. Its a service and in the TOS "No reselling allowed" Luckily for me between my NES/SNES/N64/GameCube/Sega Master/TG16/Jaguar/Dreamcast/Saturn there's enough games out there that I never have to bother with buying/supporting anything as a service for the rest of my life.

I have no problem with paying. For example I found this band/album to be the best EM album I have heard in ages so I sent them $5 just like several artists and OSS projects that made their "great" works available at fair prices.

It doesn't matter. This should have never been done and it was it shows us what the gov is really about which is they can't be trusted to govern Canada in the best interest of Canadians. Look at the opposition to bill C-11, C-30 and how the gov just doesn't give a flying fuck about the consequences of these bills.

A gov official named Vic Toews calling Canadians opposed to the bill paedophile sympathisers has no respect for Canadian citizens.

    >Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is like selling 5,000 tickets to a show that can only host a thousand people, and blaming the people who complain about not getting what the paid for.

I think this is like selling 5000 tickets to an all you can eat buffet and when you realise all those 5000 people are obese and are about to eat you alive you narrow down the door so only the skinniest people can get it on at a time. Also once in a while you get someone stuck in the door which gives your cook some extra time to cook up new food and get closer to business closing hours. THEN you call all those people fat pigs and blame their weight for you not being able to supply the amount of food that was needed.

Usually with in days everyone in my school had a tape copy of any new album that was released. The only thing that iTunes changes was you could spend your money from a chair in front of your computer. but long before that there was tons of trading by even non "geeks" through Napster and ftp.
