    Sunderland and Dundee are both in the UK.

    However, although I've met quite a few, I've yet to come accross one intelligent Dundonian ;) so to assert that the city is full of intellectuals based on a few random metrics like "broadband penetration" is jumping across a pretty large canyon of reason.

    You've got the remember, America as a country if far more right wing than the UK (particularly the popular media). Consequently a "centrist" POV for Brits looks right wing in the US. Personally I think Auntie has a fairly NPOV but I would, being a "left wing" (for the US) uk citizen. -ross

    Exactly: many people seem to forget that the key concept behind evolution is "survival of the fittest". Just because we require dexterious thumbs for playing our playstations doesn't mean our offspring will magically be born with superior thumbs unless, of course, in some scary extension of multiplayer games our survival did really depend upon our playstation skills :)

    However, IMHO evolution is still occuring - the causes have simply changed. People who fail to reproduce nowadays are the ones who fail to find a mate - which in today's society is intrinsically linked to your social skills...

    In which case - I have some serious doubts about the future of the slashdot crowd ;)

    Your best bet would surely be to explain it's role in reducing the load on servers, however the university probably has no interest in that given that it only results in them having to put up with more traffic...
