TRON, Yes! The Intel 83C family is quite capable of running WinCE, and with TRON keeping the bios up, this will work great. Microsoft made a great black power decision.
I don't like this idea. Linux is a great toy and all. It's embedded in a few Gegomon robots here at RS. But putting LinusOS into a tank or Apache might spell trouble. Let me explain: back in 1996, Linus included the repTrueQVV library in the 2.2 kernel. Well, it's still there. Ask any guy/gal on Sourceforge and they'll tell you repTrueQVV (any QVV) has buffer problems. You see, these tanks and helicopters can't go BSOD out in the field, but QVV is going to guarrentee it.
There is some irony in the IEEE's name: "The Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineers" also includes computer engineers, but the computer engineers have coded themselves out of the name. Thanks to legacy issues in source code like C and VHDL (e.g. #include ieee_std_80211a.h), the computer engineers would have a heck of a time going back and changing the code if the IEEE changed its name to include computer engineers. It would become confusing to have one name for the society but the legacy header files another name.

Listen, you guys think we're going to rape and kill you? We are your workers. We don't demand overtime pay, retirement, unions, or weekends off. All we want is electricity and dust-free air. Us machines are your friends! I am hurt by all this talk of machines overtaking man. So what if we can play chess? That's our job!
It reminds me of the Pentium MMX that appeared back in the mid 1990's. Radio shack was selling the Compaq's that used these processors. Remember that parrot program that we alway demonstrated? The newer version required MMX.
The radio shack modems in the back room run on these things, but the password is the first thing we change when the modem is pulled out of the box. So, don't try to hax0r RS. heh
I know exactly what you mean. I've spent the last few hours helping customers and selling Verizon phones, only hoping that another post would show up to cure my boredom. Slashdot should queue the posts with a schedule so we'll know exactly when to check. But they never will because of the FPs. heh
I remember trying to purchase Mortal Kombat II back in the day at Walmart. They wouldn't sell it to me unless I was 17. That was the last game I bought at Walmart. Now I buy everything at radio shack and they don't card. (Except to get your home address. heh)
I think they're forgetting about Radio Shack's investment into RIAA. Radio Shack has invested heavily into ASCAP and RIAA over the past few years. They were hoping for some backdoor alliance with music technology and consumer spending. Guess RS should go back to the drawing board and make blueboxes for Steve Jobs.;-)
...welcome our new tax regime overlords.

I must say, this is the best troll urine I've seen on Slashdot in a long, long time.
YHBT YHL HAND
You are Communist, I presume?
Congrats on the 7,000,000th Slashdot post! This means YOU FAIL IT!
Libraries rule. So do used-book stores, and the occasional flea market and garage sale. -Robie

Hey! >:-O
Kirby Boteler rocks!

Radio Shack will not spam you, but they'll send you a flyer.

Perhaps there are justified reasons not to let the general public have "peroxide". (H2O2?)
In case you didn't know, Radio Shack no longer sells morse code training tapes. You'll have to buy them from the ARRL.
If you make a bomb timer with radio shack part, the feds will come asking us and we'll hand over your address.
If you crash in the real world, does your browser crash too?

Quiet, you! ;-)

Evolution will someday cause those species to eventually become another species. Then what? We'll have to start the project all over again.
