Back in the 90's I did some IT consulting work for a lady that had a consulting practice that their whole gig was they went into doctors offices and showed them how they could use different CPT codes for for various procedures and make more money from it. So instead of using a code for say "blood sugar blood test" then would show them to use the code for a generic procedure that had a higher cost. They would do a "free" analysis of the doctors current billing's then show where they could make the doctor more money by going bill by bill to show them where they could make more money by using different CPT codes. When the doctor would hire her company (pay them $$$) they would then show which specific CPT codes to change on each bill. She still has this business and is making good money as well she is also now a lobbyist for the medical industry....
For Companies yes. That is why they want more H1-B's to drive wages down to slave wages an help line the pockets of executives. I think companies should have to pay monetary penalties for every H1-B they hire.
My last company I was asked to help my boss write a job description targeted to a specific persons resume - it was a person from India with an H1-B. The person was "submitted" by another person in the company that was an H1-B. I informed my boss that by law he had to look for an American Candidate first. He told me that if an American candidate fit the job description he would hire them. When the job description is tailored to a specific persons resume the chances of someone else fitting it are slim. Been there, done that. I told my boss I could not with a clear conscious help him do something so underhanded. I immediately started looking for another job and found one and started my new job within 4 weeks. I couldn't work for a slimy company like that. Granted anymore, just about every company is becoming slimy.....

Why not setup every computer in the U.S. in like a beowolf cluster and mass DDos China. Shut the whole country down. No loss there.... Might help generate new manufacturing jobs in the U.S...
No, the new Right To Work bill only applies to workers not having to sign up for unions and not having to pay union dues. Nothing about Non-Competes - all thought they SHOULD have been included. California is the only state I know of for sure that it's against the law to enforce non-competes.
Amazon built a new BIG distribution center just up I94 here in southern Wisconsin from where Uline has their corporate headquarters and many warehouses and distribution centers. And Uline makes you sign non-competes as well for ALL their positions. Their's though are for 12 months not 18. I know - I had to sign one....
The only way you will stop this madness and actually have middle east peace - is turn the ENTIRE middle east into a giant glass factory! PERIOD! Leave NO WHERE for the radicals to go - everywhere will be done and over.

There is enough people here that have pointed out some very valid points as to the lack of the interviewers skill in interviewing for developers.I would say to this person - learn MORE about what you are interviewing for and what specific skills the developers need for the position and make darn sure that is what is in the job posting! I've interviewed for many developer jobs where the job posting and the interview questions were polar opposites! The asked for one set of skills in the job posting and then asked about a completely different set of skills in the interview. I chock that up to cranial rectumitus syndrome!

That's what my company is doing. They have basically told us we won't be doing any in house development. My COO flat out told me they were going to using people from India because they can pay them a dime on the dollar. The whole line of people who are in any kind of development track all will have to take a "skills assessment" to see where their skills might best fit them elsewhere in the organization. All DBA and server administration work is being transferred as well. Guess what NO IT job is safe these days.... IT -IS- a dying field in the U.S. unless you want to work for dimes on the dollar... Maybe those striking fast food workers will find themselves outsourced by Indians as well.
They call it the American Dream because you have to be asleep to believe it!
We used PDFClown (open source - Java) for production applications that were generating PDF's on the fly with hundreds of pages using Java and it performed very well.
