When I was a kid TV was free to the consumer, being paid for by advertising revenue. The subscription model is, relatively speaking, the "new thing". TV survived a long time with the add supported model. Now I do pay for cable, mostly for the larger variety of channels to choose from but also because cable doesn't get all snowy when the weather is bad and I don't have to have a big antenna tower on my roof to pick up the signal. That said, once I've paid for it I do insist on the right to DVR so I can watch later and record and transfer to a mobile device so I can watch it elsewhere. If I can't do that with what is delivered by the cable company I will find it elsewhere.
If it is available in France wouldn't a translation of it have popped up somewhere for the benefit of those of us that don't count French among the languages we speak?
How about a link to the French version so we could pop it into Google translate or babelfish?
Sometimes Presidents want some of their own pet issues to be addressed by Congress. If a President tries to run roughshod over Congress with the veto power he can count on never seeing anything he actually wants to be enacted ever coming across his desk.
... and the people who wrote them booted out come next election season.
I'm not sure where you came to the erroneous conclusion that this is being written by anyone elected. This is being written by lobbyists and state department flacks.
My old microwave was 1500 watts, the current one is 1300 watts. Wife's hair dryer is 1200 watts. When my 11 year old daughter leaves the bathroom lights on that is 800 watts (8 x 100 watt bulb light bar style fixture).
Each Tesla card pulls a maximum of 187.8 Watts per the spec sheet.
By the time they passed the difference in velocity would have made that difficult.
Of course, by the time they had actually built a ship with the new engine and launched it the first ship would probably be back. It's not like we have a bunch of man worthy spaceship hulls laying about ready to just strap an engine in.
Welcome to slashdot General
Do you remember (from history class) what happened the last time some States tried to secede?
