I'm worried less about ageism and the cargo-cult programmers who latch on to the newest shiny constantly. They tend to shun engineers who are more reserved about their technology choices. "You're not a good programmer unless you used at least 15 different frameworks for your project..."
Two things, first you have to establish what discrimination means in a concrete way, and second you have to prove that Harvard is doing it. With regards to the first, the only statistically meaningful mechanism of measuring institutionalized discrimination is by looking for a difference between demographics of the institution's selection population, and the general population. With regards to point two, Harvard is obviously extremely discriminatory, but not to Asians.
Couple of more things:
There are more people applying than can possibly be admitted, the entire process of selecting applicants is designed to discriminate.
SAT scores are one of those means TO discriminate people.
You're assuming the ability to PAY for school doesn't factor in at all in the admissions of a private institution.
You're assuming there's some kind of metric that makes a person "qualified for admission to Harvard." There is no yardstick which you can take to a person and say, "this person has N harvard admission units."
As an active member of the D community, I agree with what you're saying. Some of it is an issue of manpower though. I've seen these things start to change recently as more people have come onboard.
To be honest, I like California weather. What I DONT understand is why all these startups cluster so close to downtown San Francisco. I'd love to be up somewhere a bit farther north like Ukiah, or Willits CA.
Automation is happening with or without raising the minimum wage. The real solution to the problem is not raising the minimum wage, but abolishing it and replacing it with a basic income guarantee.

I read the article. There is nothing written in this article to suggest that experience and testosterone were deconvolved suitably in their analysis. Do you have the actual paper, where they somehow account for age and wisdom? If they did not test *before* and *after* being giving people testosterone there is no basis for claiming their results were from testosterone and not wisdom.
It's more likely their statistics are fubar than this is a good study.

Apple does a lot more R&D than you have stated. They are responsible for FireWire, the Capacitive multitouch displays used in the iPhone, Altivec, etc. etc.
