I'm not calling you out here or anything, but I just had a quick question. I'm avid gamer... I waste hours with em... but a better rush than skydiving ?
How many times have you been skydiving ? Hurdling towards terra firma at 120mph with no other human in sight knowing damn well if you don't pull the pilot chute, it's all over... I wouldn't really compare that to a game... but that's me.
I agree. I have no problem with the boxes for a number of reasons. I think most of the folks objecting to them need to readjust their foil hats since mandates on automobiles are seldom retroactive.
A couple of quick thoughts though:
1) The real story for me is: Man KILLS another human through recklessness; get's off with 18 months.
2) Does anyone remember a guarenteed RIGHT to drive an automobile ? I don't. I don't live in Cananda, but here is the US where you have a right to bear arms, and a privilege to drive it's substantially easier to get a car than a firearm. Given the discrepency of the body count on those two devices, and the seeming inability for anyone to drive at posted limits, perhaps it's time to apply the same criteria to cars as guns...
I'm not letting the formatter off the hook; I actually find that behavior to be abhorent. I'm simply stating that this is a consequence of putting complete faith in a technology you don't understand...
First I'd like to say that I agree with everything you've said. But... I am compelled to play devil's advocate for a moment. If you have no concept of how a computer works, and how data is stored...perhaps that is not the medium on which you should be keeping your most treasured family memorabilia.
Similarly, if you have no concept that running VHS cassettes throw a chipper/shredder makes it so the moving pictures of grandma are gone forever...home movies are not for you.
They're actually pretty neat. I got to play with them a bit when i worked in point of sale. Just about every fast food drive through uses the same kind of device. They're terrifically uncomplicated.
Touching again on the amount of iron you need above these things to trigger them... I once sat at a completely unpopulated intersection for upwards of 10 minutes on a motorcycle...then i ran a red light.

That's an excellent example. Bill gates is fairly representative of most tax payer after all... ACK..AHEM... ERR...
You know what Stuart, I like you. You're not like the other kids...here...in the trailer park.
PSSSHh... Quitting caffeine is easy. I've done it lots of times.
Or in the words of Comic-book guy... "Worst continuity, Ever!" Obviously comic-book guy never heard of highlander.
