My house burned down in 2009. Lost all computers.even my employers laptop. All data gone.
been online since 95. digital camera since 98, mp3 conversions since 97.
(Previously had 1 linux home server serving 3 TB data. WinXP workstation dual 24 inch monitors, linux desktops and xp laptop.)
Already drank the apple kool aid, with iphones, so after starting over got imac to replace workstation and server, laptop for other systems.
Built a home bar in new house and This is now the office. connected mac mini with 4 TB data to 32 inch tv with elgato HD connected to the mini, I can stream tv to any ios via wifi or 3/4G. Stream video library to android or ios devices via wifi or 3/4G.
2 networks private and guest networks so all guests can plug in when they are here.
very little wires and low maintenance.
I got a speaker bar for the tv with a wireless subwoofer in the family room. It sounds great. low maintenance.
When you get a new house there is so much to do. Keep it low maintenance.
This happened to me I paid for 300 text for each line. The first month they went over they paid me the costs, but the next month the bill was over $500 ( son sent over 3k messages in 2 weeks) Called my carrier and removed all text capabilities from their phones.
Daughter asked me months later if they she could pay for text again, I told her that I pay for a phone so I can call her, If she wants text she needs to get her own.
I hate board games because I suck at them. The only one I like is a game called Past Lives. You can steal from the other players, games usually take about 1 hour, but longer the more experienced you get, great for company.
I'm a Unix Admin (AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, Linux) and since I started over 5 years ago I have been using linux and using it as my primary desktop at work for over 4 years.
I have my mail client pointed to our exchange server as a pop3 server (exchange will also support imap but I dont trust the backups of the exchange database). I also use the exchange server as a LDAP server for addresses.
I find that if I am rebuilding my linux desktop, I dont feel as effective working on windows than I do on linux
I have also thought about switching employers but I am worried about other companies policies with installing linux on their desktops.
David Eddings is great his greatest series is the belgariad and the mallorean series (10 Books Total) with 2 prequels. There is also another series called the Elenium and the Tamuili (6 Books total ) I enjoy the first 2 series so much i will reread them once a year.
Robert Jordan's (Mentioned earlier) Wheel of Time is also a great read)... cant wait to read the latest.

Easy, I warn every parent to remove text.
Man-Drivel would be better
