Many people compare software design with building something. But the correct comparison would be to compare with *designing* something.
Building a bridge, toaster, house.. whatever.. is only the final execution (like coding). Projects for bridges, toasters or houses are behind schedule just like software projects.
And about the formal standards - they are required in case the software could kill somebody (like for bridges, houses, toasters). Otherwise - it is not my busies how my neighbor did build his kitchen table..
Look at europe and statistics how many people buy a new phone because of the camera.
fe. me, i would like to wave camera with me all the time, but i do not want to carry all the stuff with me. it would be nice to have a point'n shot in my pocket together with my phone in one small device.

Better book accomodation in advance. I wasnt there since 2 years now but it used to be a common problem there in Banska Bystrica.
