I disagree with some of the responses. They probably watched remember the titans and judged it from that. A properly done movie (eg avatar) that uses two cameras to film or any PC game with IZ3D or Nvidia 3d vision is very impressive. Movies like remember the titans and Alice in Wonderland were shot standard and created the depth afterwards. This gives it a cardboard cut-out feel HopefulIntern is talking about. For some reason, this method is cheaper (less CG rendering?) and is used by studios to exploit the current popularity of 3D movies. I watched Alice in Wonderland and the whole thing made me feel sick until the credits (with growing mushrooms) which I believe was done properly as it was very pleasing and comfortable to watch
The easiest way to show why the conversions are crap is to put an object close to your face. Close one eye and then the other. Each eye sees more of its side of the object. This is lost when a 2d to 3d conversion is done.
Either way, you're unfortunately missing out, but the 3d tvs do also have 120hz (needed for the tech), so that can be an advantage to anyone, plus I would imagine if all tvs go 3d they will have an option to display the left image in 2d for situations with more people than glasses.
This name is stupid. I hate Nintendo. Not only did they rob my childhood of wonderful multi-media experience by sticking with cartridges, they also continually rob my parents of money every time they come out with a new version of the same gameboy that my brother has to have. I hate those assholes, they should have went down instead of Sega. The Dreamcast was awesome. Imagine something like Mario 64 on that!
I was looking forward to these until that whole HDCP mess. My nice HDTV uses the "analogue hole" to get its signal, something those dicks in the MPAA don't like.
If anything, I'm rooting for Blu-ray. As much as I hate Sony lately, more storage is always better, and I'd almost be able to fit my mp3 collection on one disc.
I understand that they do make good games, and I enjoy those games. But they SUCK at hardware.
NES - inferior to the master system and only won the 8-bit war b/c of violation of the law (it was a lot of fun though)
SNES - late because the consumers "weren't ready for 16-bit". I was also slow, and I though sega games were more fun.
N64 - A fucking joke. I bought it, and there were a few good games, but cartriges in 1996?? all the games felt washed out and stupid due to lack of space, I eventually traded it for a playstation to enjoy movies, cd music tracks, and games that felt less like it was 1993.
Game Cube - The only decent thing they've came out with. They are still bitches about non-standard media (the small cds). I haven't been too impressed with the games yet (mario 64 is better than sunshine, sonic 2 was out years ago on dreamcast)
Gameboy - An attempt to steal everyone's money many times over. Gameboy, Gameboy pocket, Gameboy color, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Advance 2 (that new fold up thing). 5 systems, and little advance in hardware. They are theifs for this in my opinion, and you think by now they'd have 3d games on their hand-helds (and mode 7 is not 3d).
If you can't tell, I hope the next systems fails miserably. Then someday we could see mario and zelda on a decent system like PS 4, Xbox 3, or Dreamcast 2 (if only...)

I know this guy. He is a real fag. He does know his shit though (and he's not really gay).
