Okay, anyone else find this incredibilely offesive and hipocratical?
``Piracy'' Publishers often refer to prohibited copying as ``piracy.'' In this way, they imply that illegal copying is ethically equivalent to attacking ships on the high seas, kidnaping and murdering the people on them. If you don't believe that illegal copying is just like kidnaping and murder, you might prefer not to use the word ``piracy'' to describe it. Neutral terms such as ``prohibited copying'' or ``unauthorized copying'' are available for use instead. Some of us might even prefer to use a positive term such as ``sharing information with your neighbor.'' (http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/words-to-avoid.ht ml)
First of all, there is no backdoor. Look at the previous article...
Second, this is not, I repeat, *not* years old. Its more like dyas old...
MY, what is wrong with Slashdot's article selection process? Anything that is worded pro-Linuz, anti-MS has a high change of getting posted. Regardless of its truth.
Microsoft I suppose? Everything that has to do about Microsoft is evil agian huh? So this is the intelligence of your everyday average Slashdot poster?
I suppose that if the company in this story is Redhat, all of you would be saying how helpful and efficient the NYPD is...
*sigh* Moderating this down would only amplify the hypocracy...
>I wouldn't be surprised if the free software >community feeds more than 30.000 mouths.
Yeah, feed by non-software related companys. Take Linus for an example, Transmeta is a hardware company. OH, guess who funded the company? A confounder of MS, and Intel...
>there isn't any war between the free software >community and Microsoft, or any company for that >matter.
Then tell me what am I seeing? Look around you on slashdot. Look around.
>What we're opposing is the practice that many >companies use that takes away the users freedom >to do what they want with software that they buy.
Yeah, in doing that, you canniblized the software market. How many open source programers are hired by a non-software related firm? How many are inside huge non-software centered corporations that happened to do some software design? How many of them are teacher and student?
Now I'm not saying that open source is bad or MS is good. I'm just saying that there are many holes in your argument. We all wish for a better world. But only realist ways will achieve it.
News for nerds? Over the past serveral month, I really started to wonder rather this is a news site, or is it just a site for the serveral people who runs this site's agendas.
You bash for bashing's sake. You say that Microsoft is evil. And you say that they are guilty.
Well tell me then, why giving 30,000+ people their livelyhood, making a quarter of them millionaries is bad?
People live to earn in the current system. Tell me how many mouth had the open source community feed? None.
So what did they find? Where's the text?
People, wake up, AMD is more evil then Intel.
>Why pay for their digital radio when we have the
>free analog stuff?
No, it should be:
Why pay when you can get it elsewhere for free?

Lastime when it shows that Windows is the speediest, the icon used was the microsoft icon, which depicts Bill Gates as borg.
This time it shows that Linux is the speediest, instead of using the Linux icon, the Internet icon is used...
*sigh*
Nah, lets just call this a casualty, like the military had done after murdering millions of innocents.
Firecrackers can not possiblely reach the shuttle!

Ever notice how one lega floats on water?
With enough of it, you can build a platform to stand on!
What I'm thinking is that the gun sellers out to be able to sue the FBI for the loss of sale that this "glitch" caused.
If they can't, the laws ought to be changed.
The Natherlands anyone?

Slashdot is setting a very very bad example.
*sigh*
Remember, Al Gore invented the internet!
(someone got to say it...)
I don't know why I have to point this out but...
Succeess is done behind the scene.
Those out in the spot light are celebraties. And pretty much it...
This is a much MUCH better version of the story. And is much closer to the truth.

Umm, unless you bought liscenses for those, you are breaking the copyright law.
Just fyi.
I agree. But Slshdot seem to be mostly composed of those people...

Neer sightedness had blinded so many.

Do you know why RobLimo and CmdTaco keeps on putting offensive/misinformed information in the articles posted on slashdot?
I think I heard this from here somewhere, but the intention is to get people offended so *you* will post your replys to it.
Think about it, the only thing slashdot has to offer is this forum. Without post in this forum, slashdot is worthless.
Looks like Slashdot is degenerating into a forum for fanatic now...
If this trend continues, I think I'll leave...
The hypocracy is unbarable now...
Turn off personal statistics forever. That'll solve the ego boosting problem.
It won't solve the cracking the program for fun problem though...
>But AOL is all over the place
You just answered your own question. AOL is everywhere, not as a single entity.
Good or bad, irrelevent.
Isn't it amazing that Trasmeta, without any thing, has most people here believers.
While E2K, on the same boat, with evidence, has most people here yell fraud?
The irony of slashdot...
Paranoia... I bet you won't say its a fraud if its
from the US...
Anyway, the E2K runs x86 instruction as said by the press release. So it runs a lot of the rc5 client.
