If they can predict a volcano eruption let us say 40 minutes in advance, why not?! Like weather it is probably a matter of time scale and prior information density.
"I think depending on how you look at it, Apple has probably increased its market share over the last year or so by a point or more. And a point of market share on a number that's about 300 million is interesting. It's an interesting amount of market share, while not necessarily being as dramatic as people would think, but we're very focused in on both Apple as a competitor, and Linux as a competitor."
and
I assume we're going to see Android-based, Linux-based laptops, in addition to phones. We'll see Google more as a competitor in the desktop operating system business than we ever have before. The seams between what's a phone operating system and a PC operating system will change, and so we have ramped the investment in the client operating system.
Understandable move from Oracle. Anyone finding out that their wife/husband/life partner is having a side affair would ask them to move out.
It is really really sad, but I am not so sure about the ethical steps from Oracle's side up to this point. What made these guys create LibreOffice in the first place and why doesn't Oracle answer to that more constructively? Does LibreOffice really have the momentum already to withstand this move or is Oracle using the early stage?
At this stage we are not in a win-win situation, and things may get worse than the frustrated name calling of a bitter drama-queen feud.
So, you mean that if I take 11 cylinders instead of 10 or 12, I could get a patent on a new car trunk, just because of that? Or, if I would get patent on 3 CPU word processing, or 4 CPU word processing or double butt *%&#+/@, whatever...
"Well who created the all-mighty then?" That was an easy question. Moses created "the almight" about 1000 BC. He invented the single god, aka "all-mighty", inspired by the single god of a pharao a few centuries earlier (who btw was Nefertitis husband). Before that the hebrews were polytheistic like most other in Egypt. The big question is how Pharaoh had receieved the idea of a single god. Possibly he in turn was inspired by the zoroastrians, a monotheistic religion which had been created several centuries before him. It is not stranger than that.
I'm getting bored to tears by all these "science imitates nature" articles. Since childhood I must have read about the velcro background a hundred times. Will I have to put up with yet another dozen gecko geek articles over the next few years?

Count me in, cowboy! That is one! :)

But, we can't count on you?!
I mean the article "In Florida, a Cell Phone Network With No Need For a Spectrum License"...
What is that?! Not news for nerds... Possibly news for techies.
Accroding to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TILE64 the Tilera CTO and co-founder is Anant Agarwal. According to http://www.csail.mit.edu/user/723 he is from Madras, India.

And, OpenOffice runs on Android mobile phones: http://www.alwaysonpc.com/aboutOpenOffice.php. That is something for Microsoft to be sleepless about.
OpenOffice on Android mobile phones. Mmmmmm. Sweet.

Does it run Linux? ;)
Seriously, that must have been one the first choices they thought of, even if they probably thought of it as GNU/Linux.
No, I haven't read the article, yet. :)
They should've asked the Chinese straight away. They would have known.

Have a look at R, http://www.r-project.org/, which is math related.
Their developers page is at http://developer.r-project.org/
The R Project has again participated in the Google Summer of Code during 2010 http://www.r-project.org/soc10/index.html which had several projects in C++
I think R could be nice as it combines a high level approach with the lower level of C++.
They also have forum at http://groups.google.com/group/gsoc-r/topics

Hope this was what the terrorist attack US warned about yesterday. It seemed pretty restricted then.
Does it run on Linux? For once a relevant question... ;)

Huh? I thought Apple used the same processor, ARM 11, as Nokia.
120 only ?! That is far too few reviewers!
That is less than one per academic topic.
No wonder that Wikipedia will remain relevant.
