That's not true. Google Chrome or Atomic are good alternatives. There's even 360 Browser which offers full flash support. Not all are reskinned Safari browsers.
I don't think you appreciate just how fantastic JRR Tolkien's work is. He wrote literally thousands upon thousands of pages that were merely backdrop to his story. References to ages past and heroes long dead that only get a couple of sentences in the actual Lord of the Rings series, but he took the time to write out the stories of those heroes and their deeds. I like Game of Thrones, and think it's a fantastic piece of work, but I don't think it surpasses what Tolkien managed to achieve.
I didn't claim that earth radiates IR from anywhere, I claimed that the water vapor as a feedback is false. You are incorrect. But let's pursue your claim further, shall we? You claim Earth radiates IR from the top of the atmosphere. If that were the case, why are we concerned about CO2 then? The CO2 warming theory states that CO2 absorbs upward IR radiation, and re-emits it in all directions, including back down. This is why it causes an increase of temperature. So how is it possible that CO2 can absorb IR radiation from a point below the top of the atmosphere, and how is it possible that it can emit IR radiation below the top of the atmosphere, if our atmosphere only radiates IR from the top (according to you)?

If you believe that's all Media Matters is about, nothing I post is going to change your brainwashed mind.
Not entirely true. Water vapour in the atmosphere moves massive amounts of heat from the surface to the upper atmosphere. It works almost like a refrigeration system. The water vapour feedback theory is incorrect.
Hey Moron, our bodies use aerobic energy. Consuming Glucose and Oxygen, our muscles generate energy, and produce water and carbon dioxide as a byproduct. We're not recycling it. C6H12O6 + 6O2 => 6CO2 + 6H2O + 2900 kJ/mol. As you can see, new Carbon Dioxide molecules are created from the complex hydrocarbon and oxygen reaction.
So why is Germany going full speed ahead with the construction of 26 more coal burning power plants? Oh, that's right, Germany is forced to import two thirds of the energy it consumes, and the massive investments in renewables hasn't done anything to change this situation. Here's an interesting development in Germany's quest for wind powered electricity: Wind power woes.
You're only getting half of the numbers when talking about subsidies. You're referring to subsidies for construction of new projects. I'm talking about the subsidies paid on the electricity generated by renewables. Please see this article for more info: Wall Street Journal.
If you're too lazy to click and read, here's the base numbers you need:
subsidies per megawatt hour
wind: $56.29
natural gas: $0.56
nuclear: $3.14
Those numbers show you how bad wind is for mainstream power generation. The only reason we have so many being built is because of the massive subsidies being paid for the "clean" energy they produce. However, at some point the subsidies run out, and then the turbines become a financial burden. There are times when it makes sense to build a wind turbine, such as a remote location far from the grid. But these times are few and far between. Wind turbines are nothing but a scam, and thirty years from now we're going to see these things abandoned and derelict all over the world.
bullshit. Wind is a waste of money. We abandoned it centuries ago as a form of power due to it's inconsistency. The only reason we're seeing large wind projects being built is because of massive subsidies. If wind power generation were allowed to compete on a level playing field with all other power sources, it would become extinct in no time. Nuclear is the only viable solution to replace fossil fuels as our primary source of power generation.
Your comment is horseshit. Commenting about choking you to death is obviously alluding to the Garner case. Garner was resisting arrest. The police are authorized to apply force to enforce the laws. Resisting arrest allows the police to use force as necessary to apprehend the suspect. Did the police officer draw his gun and shoot Garner? No, he applied a choke hold in order to subdue and cuff him. Unfortunately, Garner died as a result of this altercation. However, the intent of the officer was not to kill him. It's unfortunate that Garner died, but had he not resisted, he'd be alive today.
Scotland's money comes from the English tax payer.
That's because Scottish arms are too short to reach the bottoms of their deep trouser pockets. Money goes in, but can't ever be reached when needed.
The USA is the largest consumer market in the world where per capita consumption is higher than any other country. Yet you're making the claim that there's a shortage of demand, and you're getting modded up as interesting? Wow.
He wasn't running, his hands weren't up. Did you not read the autopsy when it was released? No bullets in the back, therefore not running....bullet entered bicep, therefore hands not up.

out of mod points, but you're clearly a troll

Well it's not the middle of the cables that fail...it's the darn ends of the things where they're constantly being plugged/unplugged that fail...
Use the moon as your disk, it's much bigger, and it's already there.
You really thing the plan is to do the country good? It's nothing more than another round of freebies for a target voting block.
You're making the mistake of believing this is an actual plan, not just a bunch of feel good speechmaking and propaganda.

Your comment won't be popular here. Slashdot is a haven for leftist ideology. Calling them out on their hypocrisy will only get you modded down.

Funny, my electricity bills didn't start going up until my government started investing in windmills......

Okay, let's cancel all the subsidies and see if it continues to work.
Uh, Canada. Nuclear power, no nuclear weapons or military funding involved.
