Anakans script was DESIGNED for somebody who was at least a teenager. No seven year old has the hots for a girl in the way Ani talked or had the time to build so much hardware or race in as many races as the movie claimed. If Ani was too old to start the training it means that Jedi's were taking babies from mothers breasts (and makes Luke's start seem rediculous).
Kill the whole mediaclorite(?)/Virgin Mary mess.
What is comedy relief doing in a serious space drama? Jar-jar should have been killed from the final cut.
I'd also add:
4. There are always two - a master and an apprentice.
From what I heard, the main problem with the Starship was the composite materials used. They turned out to be much heavier and expensive than predicted. Perhaps it was slightly ahead of its time.
time based purely on rotation of earth on axis, so when earth time reads noon, there will always be a sun straight up in the sky
At what location? This is essentially what each city did before the concept of standard time zones where invented. As a traveler went to each city, he has to adjust his watch to match local time.
I remember playing Elite on my C64 - wireframe graphics and all. It was awesome. Everbody I showed that game to loved it. I loved the way you had to match rotation of the bases in order to dock, and if I recall correctly, it had the music from 2001 in it - or maybe it was just in our heads.
It has one advantage over the B52 - it actually carries a bigger payload. I was really suprised by this, but one of the retired generals covering the war on CNN stated this.
It sounds like a good idea, but each application would gave to tell the system accurately what it needs. This is easily abused, and I can image a lot of coders giving their applications top priority to make them appear to be faster/more responsive than competing software.
The Toronto Police Dept. was suprised that adds for an auction they are holding showed up on KaZaA, considering the sites legal uncertainty. They got the add pulled, but neither KaZaA nor the police had control where the adds were placed.
The record companies/RIAA and the like always equate the profit loss to the number of songs dowloaded. The fact is, people download because they can, and if downloading is stopped, people will just do without the songs. They are not going to buy everything that they would have downloaded otherwise.
I remember a short story - I wish I could remember the author - in which humans had relied on computers for so long, that they had forgotton how to write and do math. A scientist reinvents mathematics using a pen and paper, and everyone is amazed because now they will be able to build cheap spaceships as they no longer need those expensive computers.
If anyone knows it, kindly let me know the name and author.
A few years ago, my roommate left his laptop (I believe it was a NEC) on the living room floor overnight. When he woke up the next morning, he found that my other roommates's dog had pissed all over the keyboard.
After a cleaning and drying it worked fine.
I just wonder how much of a loss they are incurring on the printer, and how much on average they are making above and beyond this on the sale of cartridges?
Sorry,
I just had to say, that's funny!
I'm amazed how MS added network support in only the 3.61 days between the release of 3.1 and 3.11.
I'm sure Canon dosen't want to advertise that!!
I'm sure they're perfectly happy with people thinking they have to stick with Canon cartridges.
I'm going to start using that in my programs, but of course I'll change it to:
so that SCO will never know!
"somday one will notice some inconsistency"
How do we know that quantum mechanics and probabilities are not just some type of antialiasing to cover up the jaggies of our simulation?
It's too big to be a space station.... I've got a bad feeling about this!!!

So why not sue Al Gore, the "inventor of the internet", as well.

There's an option in the nVidia drivers for windows transparancy while dragging as well.
I thought we made bridges out of them!

Is that like the machine that goes 'ping'
That one's my favorite.
what to do with all the excess thermal energy being generated while the rifle isn't being fired.
:)
I'm sure an Athlon HSF should do the job
Yeah, :)
Those MS Certified Solitare Engineers really know how to play cards

Think about it, the Earth revolves around the Sun at 67,000 mph! That doesn't mean I'm moving that fast when I drive down to the shops.
Sure it does, it's just that the shop is moving at nearly the same speed in the same direction.
Good point.

- End user reports SPAM to his ISP.
- EU's ISP contacts ISP of spammer and says joe@isp.com is a spammer. Usually through abuse@isp.com.
- If spammer's ISP does nothing and the SPAM continues, EU's ISP blocks entire spammer's ISP.
- Spammer's ISP gets reports from clients they cannot send mail to EU's ISP.
- Spammer's ISP finally kicks spammer off due to pressure from its users not being able to email EU's ISP.

Never going to happen!
Now we only mine rich deposits because it is the most economical to do so. As big deposits are used up, we move on the smaller/less rich ones.
If we extropolate this, eventually we may have to mine ordinary rocks. Al the elements are there, just less concentrated.
Hopefully by that time we will have found a better way to extract the needed elements, or we can make them on demand through fusion/fision.
