So, yes I have, and as a fiscal conservative, who also has to support a mother who can't survive on her social security w/o my help, I found the following article very intriguing.

  2. +1 Sir.

We've failed to reign in the monopolistic behavior here in the U.S. There is no free market when one or two companies have it locked up. Cable companies, satellite radio, Microsoft, etc., etc...all virtual monopolies. Sure, you have other "choices"...if you want to life on the fringe.

We need to get the big money out of politics, and stop the bullshit about corporate "speech" being a constitutional right.

  3. Those polls are nearly worthless at this point. There's plenty of historical evidence of that. Much of the country isn't even engaged.

Note, that I'm not disagreeing with your assertion on class size, only that I prefer to deal with evidence based decision making, as "common sense" isn't always correct.

The only "NYC lower" managers getting 60k work at McDonalds and such. Anyone in a tech field in NYC that's not making 6 digits is either not trying or an idiot. Same for the DC area. You could barely live on 60k in either location w/o help from family or living with someone. Rent alone would be half your gross (not net) pay.

Hey, I tend to vote Rep., and while I'm not all that happy with what he's done, I don't disagree that we were in the dump at the start. But, I think we could argue about how long it took to turn around the economy, or about transparency, or about foreign policy. And, all that said, I'd still put him somewhere in the middle of the pack, but nowhere near the bottom of that list. I think presidents get judged by the people they surround themselves with, because those are the folks advising him, and actually directing most things.
