    I watched as some in the media applauded this agreement. It's simple to get agreement when everyone realized that you've got a completely unenforceable document. One that will bring change only to those who willfully wanted it anyway. I'm putting my money on no meaningful outcome...nothing that impacts climate change, or any action on the part of the U.S., China, or Russia. Call me back in five years and we can see if I'm Nostradamus.

    Reminds me of when I lived in Korea, and they tried Daylight Savings for a year, and then stopped it. The story going around was that the farmers complained there crops weren't getting enough sunlight.

    This is the kind of thing that makes many people to be skeptical of "scientific" findings, or when people claim "the science is settled".

    Please don't take that as an opportunity to jump on my comment as if I'm a "denier". I'm not. But, I have lost some faith in peer review because many experimental claims seem to be getting taken as fact without further verification. Repeatable results matter, but nobody gets funded to recreate results because there's no glory in it.

    They'd probably need to control for the fact that older people tend to sleep less because they need to pee more frequently.

    What if it was your loved ones in that car that was hit? Do you not care if the cops can catch the criminals?

    What if it was your wife that was raped, would you be in favor of the death penalty for the perp? This is why policy isn't set by victims, nor should it be.

    I have been hit by a car. Twice.

    So, did they put the vehicle in reverse for the second hit, or do a donut and come back?

    In VA, my vehicle was sideswiped. I called the cops, and when the trooper showed up, he took one look and told me have a nice day. They only take reports when there's more than $1k in damage, or there's an injury.

    Shifting in and out of gear every couple seconds isn't an answer, your decades of driving are no better than my 40+ years. Rush hour traffic is bumper to bumper or you're doing it wrong.

    When traffic is moving and stopping every few seconds, you've either got it in or out, there's no leaving it in any gear.

    Exactly. Having personally be stuck in rush hour traffic for two hours, and a left leg that was getting numb from holding down the clutch, I'll never own another stick for commuting purposes.

    I suspect all cars will be throttle by wire in the not distant future. Don't hold the idea at fault for a poor Nissan implementation.

    Maybe you're an awesome driver, but you clearly don't know squat about peoples needs and wants for their vehicles.

    Buyers of Porsche SUVs are not thinking...period.

    If someone drives out of a Porsche dealership with their heaviest car, they are a blithering moron.

    If you have a $60k budget, and need to carry the wife and kids, and do so in four seasons, there's nothing wrong with choosing a Cayenne or maybe Infiniti FX. You sound like the kids who complain about people buying four door sports cars. I'd probably be driving a two door if I didn't need a bit more practicality. One size doesn't fit all.
