Although there are accessible statistics of seizures at the federal level, it often happens that the totals of forfeitures from both criminals and innocent owners are combined; for example, one report was that in 2010, government seized $2.5 billion in assets from criminals and innocent owners by forfeiture methods,[12] and the totals of assets seized incorrectly from innocent owners was not separated statistically. Further, since the United States is a federal republic with governments at both the national and state level, there are civil forfeiture seizures at the state level, which are not tracked and recorded in any central database,[8] which make it difficult to make assessments, since state laws and procedures vary widely. According to The Washington Post, federal asset forfeiture in 2014 accounted for over $5 billion going into Justice and Treasury Department coffers, while in comparison, official statistics show that the amount stolen from citizens by burglars during that same year was a mere $3.5 billion
Every prior president has been elected via the same system. If we had a popular vote system, both candidates would have ran a different campaign, so you can't even make the popular vote claim. Campaigns are ran to win, not to win the popular vote. There was no whining about the rules before the election, and I guarantee that had the shoe been on the other foot, the left wouldn't be complaining about it...maybe the right would, but then they'd be full of shit too.
To continue to be a traffic cop they must consistently bring in at least as much as they are paid, in revenue. Thats the bare minimum too. I doubt america is so retarded that traffic cops get paid by the ticket "revenue" they bring in...
Then your doubt is ill placed. Years ago, a local police chief admitted to the Washington Post that they have quotas for traffic tickets. It's been common knowledge that this is the case in most jurisdictions. You'll also note that police departments are able to confiscate just about anything used in a crime, from cars to cash.
Today, I learned the guy who was fixing to replace the guy who either was, or was not, the guy in the photo in blackface or in the KKK getup may be replaced by someone who was accused of sexually assaulting some bitch a decade ago.
As a VA resident, and conservative (the opposition), I was prepared to forgive Governor Northam this shit, done back in his 20s at a time when there was no public controversy about Confederate statues or flag. People do stupid shit, especially in their teens/twenties, so he should have just owned it, and apologized. Times change, people evolve. But no, he had to lie about it at least three ways...google the Slate article for details. As for Fairfax, maybe there's something there, maybe not...let's try not to judge w/o some actual evidence though.
And there are honestly no EU laws a sane person would want to contradict... so go figure.
Having a difference of opinion with someone else does not make the opposition any less sane. Your opinion is no more valuable than theirs. Examples...
1. Free movement rules. Nations have no say in who can cross their borders...migrants or workers. Enough people in UK don't like this but clearly you think they're not sane.
2. EU requires a 15% VAT on everything from tampons to electric bills...not very progressive of them.
3. EU has strict banking regulations, pushed mostly by the Germans...British argued for more relaxed rules. There is no "completely independent" here.
When you open the door to your home and show the police something, it doesn't give them the right to snoop around for other stuff w/o a warrant. Sure, they can go after stuff with probable cause, or if there's something wrong within eyesight of that door...not the case here, and insinuating that it is would set a bad precedent.
Her name is already public, so she's now officially toast anyway since calling the 5th means that she has something to hide.
Good luck for her the next decade to find a decent job.
There are plenty of managers (like myself) who would gladly hire someone who stuck up for what's right. Assuming she's found innocent of any wrongdoing, she'll likely end up with offers of employment from people who've followed the case.
Yeah, lowest unemployment rate since the 60s...certainly he's "harmed the economy".
The last missile test NK did was 28 Nov 2017.
Please point to the warmongering your claiming...would it be Syria or Afghanistan, where he's been trying to pull troops out? Or, would it be getting NATO to pay it's fair share for their defense?
And, FWIW, the man is an ass, and I didn't vote for him.
On that site, it also stated the following, which sounds like complete nonsense. Effectively, they're claiming that going 6mph faster is the equivalent of drunk driving. I call BS.
This study indicates that exceeding the speed limit of 60 km/h by 5 km/h is comparable to the risk of a BAC of 0.05. The risk of exceeding the 60 km/h speed limit by 10 km/h is higher than driving with a BAC of 0.08.
Quite honestly, if I was Tesla, I'd have a facial recognition set up for the driver. After a certain number (1?) of non-responsive incidents, I'd not allow them to drive again for a period of time. After multiple, the vehicle would no longer work for them because they're going to get Tesla sued when they crash.
There's a lesson here for the folks who say that speed kills. When you're forced to drive across wide open spaces at a mind numbing speed, you end up with people falling asleep. You're much better off allowing them to go at a pace that is fast enough to force them to pay attention. Note that this pace will vary based upon everything from the amount of traffic and weather, to the abilities of the vehicle and driver. Triple digit speeds on the Autobahn aren't crazy, they make perfect sense, but you also have to require (and enforce) slow traffic keeping right and signalling your intentions./soapbox
I can say it was predictable, because lots of people predicted it. They didn't know just when the crash would come, but they knew it was coming.
I predict that anytime you see something growing exponentially, and the majority of the population is jumping on the bandwagon, you'll see a crash. That's essentially every crash that's ever happened.
I think you're underestimating the effect this had on many people who lost their jobs, and had to spend their savings...including investments just to get by. Had the market simply stayed flat, I personally would have been able to retire 5-8 years back. Thankfully, my investments have done well enough that I'm prepared to punch out this year, but I've been rather fortunate in spite of the shaky marketplace.
I'm curious what part of the U.S. you live in, with "huge gaps between buildings (filled with largely unused parking spaces)"? Businesses are banned due to zoning laws not to "force people to drive", but because most folks don't want to live next door to a machine shop. In many areas of the country, we're starting to see towncenters pop up where you have all the basic shopping and entertainment necessities within walking distance of apartments and townhomes. Here in northern VA, the Reston towncenter was the first major one (back in the 80s), and now numerous smaller versions have been developed.
As for NIMBY, I moved to a quiet suburban community two decades ago because that's the environment I prefer to live in. YMMV, but if you don't like it that way, there are plenty of places to live that are different.
"Most people" doesn't matter. Win/lose by the rules at the time, and stop whining. Your comparison to Bolt is completely baseless.
Read and learn

I'm guessing that you're being funny, but in case your not, I've never seen a single digit runway heading. Private pilot here.
Why waste a bullet?...line them up and do all three with one.
Since I typically vote republican, let me just say I hate him too. I thought the left didn't like stereotyping.
You wouldn't be here crying about it if Trump had lost but "won" the "popular vote".

Every 1km/h speed increase created an average 3% increase in accidents.
That figure just doesn't pass the smell test, so I googled for it and came across https://ec.europa.eu/transport...

Solution: stop forcing people to drive at speeds that don't require them to pay attention.

I could support a coffee system, but the preferred delivery should be made piping hot and to the crotch.
I've done my best code on acid.
You may have done your most creative code on acid, but creativity != best code.
I didn't bother looking at what you replied to, but recommend you get back on your meds because randomly raging isn't going to help your condition.

How about four lighted buttons, and you have to press the one that randomly lights up periodically, and at random intervals.

Fucking foreigner. J/K, but few places in the U.S. have public transport as good as NYC, or London.
