So, since we're onto the KKK discussion, I'm curious? While I despise them, I also am very much against banning free speech, and the idea of "hate crimes" still seems silly to me...something is a crime or it's not, we can't legislate hate IMO.

If the KKK wants to hold a parade down mainstreet, spewing their hatred, should it be illegal, and why? Opposing views would be welcome, as long as nobody was in-sighting a riot.

I see this as very similar to the whole online harassment issue, but with much more potential for physical violence.

There is no legal right to not be offended, but there is a constitutional right to free speech. I was part of a telecommuting pilot program for our company back in the late 90s using dial-up. Digital bandwidth isn't everything. The largest resistance to accomplishing tasking was the frequent interruptions in the cube-farm in the office. So, even with a slow connection, I got much more accomplished from home.

Now, I'm "stuck" with the local cable company's slowest DOCSIS 3.0 at 65M. Our family stopped caring years ago. I'd gladly give up some if they'd charge me less.

That said, I know there have been some poorly veiled attempts to inhibit voting by blacks by a few jackasses, and those people should be thrown in jail. But the typical response from the left is that this is a coordinated party position, which is simply a thinly veiled attempt to spark more racial discord, and garner more votes for the left. There are extremists on both sides, that doesn't make it a party position.
