    Are you picking nits because it's not an actual analogy? It's still germane to the discussion as Ford's opinion appears to be that the people didn't really know what was good for them until it was presented by the experts/innovators. Uninformed opinion being basically useless.

    Neglected? The Macs that I owned went from 68000 to 68020, 68030, 68040, and then to PowerPC. Motorola continued the 68k line with

    How about instead of trying to spin it one way or the other, try publishing the facts. No real news entity should be spinning stories, but they obviously do in order to pull in a larger audience, or deliver their agenda (Fox, MSN).

    I'm really tired of these crappy stories that I see on local news meant to scare folks, or pull at their heartstrings. They really misguide peoples perceptions of reality.

    What people fail to look at during the campaigns is what circles does this guy run in?...who is he going to put in his Cabinet? It's not about electing the figurehead, it's all about who's going to be pushing the agendas.

    FWIW, I agree with you on Carter, Bush, and Obama, all incompetent...I'll give Carter the title of nicest guy though.

    Funny, I heard this bullshit when I was stationed there ('79-'81 Air Force), and from my landlord's son, to which I responded..."If we're occupying, why am I paying rent to your father?". It's not an occupation anymore when you can be asked/forced to leave, and that was the case even back then.

    Furthermore, if you're going to put in all that effort at a bad college, then just self-educate. By going to college for the money, you're letting the status quo control you.

    While I'd like to agree with you, as someone who's hired a lot of engineers, I'll say that there is definite discrimination against those w/o degrees. Unless you're an extremely rare case, you'll never catch up to your peers in regard to earnings. And, you'll have a much more difficult time getting through the HR wickets in the hiring process. Don't care about earnings, or "letting the status quo control you"?...go for it.

    Yes, you can. But, you should make sure you're covering all the bases. Often people fall into this without understanding what's really necessary..."you don't know, what you don't know". Not that it takes a lot of research, but people tend to be lazy.

    Where have you ever been re-screened after boarding the first flight. I haven't, and have made about 50 international flights over the last 20 years.

    You'd take it incorrectly. I've traveled internationally several times a year dating back to 1980, and only once have I ever been re-screened...in London, only to re-board the same plane.

    Okay, even though this example is a bit of a stretch, I'll concede that it could happen. I've made several 15+ hr trips overseas, but I've only ever been rescreened once going through London, only to reboard the same plane, and that was back in the 80s. If TSA starts confiscating devices of people in these rare circumstances, I think they'll get lambasted in the media.

    Not everything is black and white, and I don't want this TSA BS anymore than you do. But, I'm going to disagree (as does SCOTUS) with your strict interpretation of the Constitution.

    Hell, back in the 80s when I carried a Mac 512ke in a carry-on, they used to make me power it up at security. Not sure what good it did, as there was enough room inside that case for plenty of ordinance.

    Show me a bigger melting pot, and maybe we can talk about institutionalized prejudice. Sure, we have our problems, and yes prejudice is one of them, but I doubt any other country can claim to have admitted (and made citizens of) more people from virtually every country in the world.
