"How exactly is this the same "mistake" as the computer game industry? Disney is cutting it's traditional animation division not for any technical reason, nor as some artistic statement on whether 2D animation is better than 3D annimation."
I thought the reason they are giving for shutting it down was that people don't want to watch 2D animation anymore(or some shit like that). The fact that thier stories have sucked and IIRC that is due to suits trying to all get thier 2 cents in had nothing to do with it I'm sure.
Btw, one moive you left off your list was Lilo and Stitch(which I read stayed under the radar at the studio and was also good) which acording to Box Office Mojo cost 80 million(with another 40 million spent on marketing) made 145 million.
Also Road to El Dorado was made by dreamworks, not Disney.

>Finally, I'm still waiting for the Bleep page to load up, so does anyone know if their artist's videos are alsofor sale? Squarepusher's "Come On My Selector" is my favourite video of all time
I just got a collection of Chris Cunningham videos over Christmas and it has the Come On My Selector video on it(I have since downloaded and listened to the hell out of it:). It has some other quality shit on it(including Come to Daddy and Windowlicker) . I got it for under 15 bucks if I recall, well worth it.
I would think that if Jackson wanted to try and do this remake(which he has apparently really wanted to do for a long time), this is the best time to do it. He is coming off of a huge success and he has the crew in New Zealand to be able to go straight from Rings to this. Also he had done a lot of work to get it off the ground at Universal before he went to work on the trilogy. So he can get this out of his system and then move on to something more original again. Sounds good to me.
I don't really see the problem. If they make linksys they're "consumer branch" or something like that, not much would change except for the name on the outside of the box. This would just make cisco more of a houshold name. Also, it was my understanding that cisco had little to no R&D department, they just buy companies.
Aren't they all ready a corporate giant?
I thought that enabling PC users to get the benifts was almost the point of this kind of thing. Instead of Apple trying to adapt to a Windows standard, everyone uses a standard that Apple knows pretty well how to deal with. Apple can play well with others using an open standard. They aren't the misfit children anymore.
Not it is not, but it is a reason. Sometimes you need to understand the reasons for the hypocrisy before you can get rid of it. :)
;)
Also, I love Apple so wtf do I know
