After using my old Toshiba laptop, I've got my eyes on their EnduraPro/104. It's got Windows keys, but I use those, and it's got a TrackPoint. It's $100, so not too bad, and it's a BS (THANK GOD!) Of course, a Model M would be SOOOO much cheaper, and probably works better too.
Do you have any with drainage channels (I think those are the ones made in 1993 and later)? How much? How much is shipping? (UPS Ground, thank you very much...)
I find that when I'm hitting Page Up. My new computer has the mushy keyboard from hell, and it's got those power buttons. Thankfully, Wake Up is aligned with Pause/Break and Page Up, so I hit pause and nothing happens, but it's gotten to the point that when I hit Page Down on my old box (reading/., of course), I hit the blank space. (BTW, mine has a Standby key in the middle top - it's an HP multimedia kb, but it's better than the AceType (or whatever the hell it is...)
Their site is http://www.pckeyboards.com. The 1993-on Model Ms are probably better, as one site said those Ms actually have drainage holes and drainage channels(!) in case you spill your coffee into it.
I can pull 637K WITH both CD and mouse drivers on my old 486! (OK, so it's got 16MB total RAM, but there's still only 640K conventional...) It's called using MemMaker for Windows performance (aka loading everything high). BTW, IBM had a machine that could go over 640 conventional: the PCjr could be hacked for 768KB conventional. What version of DOS did you have? What drivers were you loading? On my Win95 laptop, I would simply boot nothing (no drivers, not that it had a CD) to get roughly 625K.
No, I'm not really dumb. It's just I'm not a Coward. Why is it called ANONYMOUS COWARD? Because you are being cowardly by not using your/. ID, that's why, Pr0nboy!
I don't know, I wasn't the one who did it. I suspect that he used Windows Update, because the Add/Remove Programs list looked suspiciously like Windows Update had gone at it a few times. (Hotfix after hotfix after hotfix...)
Of course, I realized, any software outside of the OS maker's control (even in a department that is nearly closed off from the OS department, i.e., Windows and MS Games, which are usually only published by MS) could cause problems. QNX is stable because it uses software that has been tested for as long as 20 years and has been proven to not be buggy. It's also not a consumer OS (but, it can be used as one...)
I remember a lot of nay-sayers said XP SP1 wouldn't work on a pirated install. (We didn't realize that our sysadmin used pirated copies of XP, but...) SP1 worked fine on XP Pro Pirated Edition.
But you DO have software licensed under the GNU public license installed on your computer! It's somewhere in the Windows binaries... MS just won't tell us what it is...
I'm downloading it right now on a pirated Windows 2000 Professional install. BTW, I got it off of KaZaA... I already have SP3 on it...
BTW, I would have cracked my legal XP Home CD to work on this one, except XP is too slow and too big for my needs (Luna, anyone?) Besides, there's stuff a Pro version can do that a Home version can't...

Any PS-2 Windows keyboard (WITH the Windows keys) combined with a PS-2 to USB adapter can be used on a USB Mac.
Sorry, wrong link...
It's http://www.pckeyboard.com (no s)
She has spent much more money on her cheap keybaords than I have spent on my single, still-working Model M.
Sure that it's still-working?

It looks like you are spreading e-mail addresses around so that the parent poster can get spammed. What would you like to do?
- Jerk off
- Format your hard drive
- Open up port 5800
- Open up port... oh, forget it... it's already open...
He almost Switched (TM), and after that, nearly replaced Windows with OS/2. I'd say he tried some new systems.
If you were meaning the W2K install, yes, I did do it that way. BTW, are there any legit XP Corporate installs with that CD key?

Is that the FCKGW one? Because SP1 worked on it.

...it's not stable, when you can crash it by holding right-CTRL and hitting Scroll Lock twice! 0840v90e79876(*&F^D*&2638 NO CARRIER
That's because the US release (which I assume is the only one SP4 runs on) is also allowed to be exported to Canada.
QNX, anyone? Only way to bring IT down is buggy HW! (10yr uptimes aren't unheard of on QNX)
No.
OS - 2 reboots
IE6 - 1 reboot
SP3/4 - 1 reboot
IE Patches - 1 reboot
Other stuff (batch 1) - 1 reboot
Other stuff (batch 2+3) - 1 reboot
Software (optional) - 1+ reboots
Drivers (optional) - 1+ reboots
Total of 7 reboots, not counting software or drivers.
It is NOT the latest server OS. 2003 is.
Running SP4 as I type now...

- Computer with Multiple Processors and an AGP Video Adapter Hangs During Startup
Yesssss! Now I can get a dual CPU Opteron with a GeForce4! (AGP Opteron boards DO exist, BTW...)

Well, I've heard that the Hellmouth series did that.
