A story from the LA Times today says that "waking up in the morning" leads to murder and suicide. Additionally, data from seven different researchers has proven that birth leads to "waking up." No correlation has been found so far, but researchers are hard at work coming up with the explanation.
In other news, a federal grant has been requested by the Research Institute of Giving-Idiots-Something-Else-To-Use-Against-Society-To-Feel-Better-About-Things-They-Don't-Understand.
Logic is so simple and easy to follow. You're right on.
Sometimes people are scared by the possible discoveries of "what really happens in life" when they use logic to analyze it. Therefore, we must simply play the game of LALALALALANothingHappenedEverything'sOkayLALALALA.
I'll leave this reply to you instead of top-level; you are right-on with what I was thinking.
My response (in-head) when I read the article was ".....and you came public with that information expecting WHAT? People screaming about privacy and you breaking the laws thereto? Or, wait, did you think that out-in-the-open is the best place to hide something of that topic and magnitude?"
I'm proud to meet someone who can grasp the logic of this. I'm on-board with you 100%.
Trust isn't something that can be tested for. It's something that grows with time. You have to hope (really, really hope) that the person isn't going to turn to the dark side in a way that hurts people.
"Now kids, make sure you pay attention to the green light at the top of your screen... This light indicates that the laptop is Green(sm) and energy-saving.":>
Will Google offer the energy free of cost? And how long until Google Energy gets out of beta? Will you initially need an invite?
Why bother asking? It started out as something that looked cool and was so useful that people can't open the topic up and reevaluate the negative outcome possibilities.
Maybe we should start a study... How many people would quit bitching about loss of privacy if the government gave them things for free, or better yet, ditched taxes?
Oh, wait, starting a study that costs a crap-load of money is part of the pervasive governmental strategy.
Regardless of what the NCLB is in this case, I look at it this way: If a school gets the smartest kids out as quickly as possible, the overall average isn't as affected by the smart'uns. Without as many high-scorers to overall raise the balance, the balance will be lower. With a lower balance, a school can scream out that it needs more money and assistance to edjamacate the kids. More money = more tax dollars to waste on crap that doesn't matter.
I have yet to see a school that has been given money actually raising the education levels for the students. The only ones I've ever seen have simply allowed the school to build bigger and fancier buildings. In fact, the ones near me even fired teachers after doing that because they "needed more money" for building the huge buildings because the cost estimates were "under-quoted" and "under-estimated due to inflation."
I'm going to stop now before I get off on a tangent.:)
I'll add. You know, because I have a good sense of humor, as well.
Alright, why not leave the situation alone? Let people play too loudly, irritate others, and/or cause hearing loss. Once it has been done (whichever angle you want to look at it from), form a startup company or government regulation (pick your poison) to "fix" the problems that have been created. Have the audio device company executives paid for their "services" by the "fixer" reps/company officials. You know, to help the company thrive and continue to create devices that people find enjoyable? The "fixer" entity (or entities) are just out there to help solve problems. I mean, come on.
Wait, why is this reminding me of another country and other instances? Oh. OH..... Ohhhh.
I have also had these guys tailgate me in an attempt to get me to drive faster than the speed limit.
Speaking freely here, but it takes a narrow following distance to observe the expiration date tags and individual's suspicious movement/behavior. Can't really do that from a distance.
Sure, there are some cops out there compensating for their own insecurity, but keep in mind that there are a lot of people in a lot of positions in life that do the same OR the opposite.
The industry will not be hurt. And no lessons will be learned.
I'll agree but add on a trailer. No lessons will be learned, except for those related to more effective cover-up and methodology modeling of future ventures.
Ya know, I was just starting to wonder why he is spending so much time on that, which could be spent digging a tunnel.:> Come on. It was funny in my head. lol
I'm sure that's exactly what the new broadband network is for. You know, 'cuz that makes so much sense. WTFoftheWTFs?!?!?!???!!!1

I'll shut up before I digress.

I hate it when people waste good humor such as yours. Tsk, tsk to whoever lowered your score.
I'll add to ya...

I'm sorry, but you forgot your (tm) after "It just makes sense."
Economic times are harsh. Everything, I mean EVERYTHING, must be copyrighted, trademarked, and service-marked. :>
When you're being paid by someone to do something like this, it's hard to disguise the moves.
I give him a B-. lol
'Zactly. That's what I'm saying. :)
No kidding!
I guess the concern is the cost of material to increase the size. I'm just reachin' on this one. lol
Hear, hear! :>
To most people out there LOUD == good. Try convincing them that the Shure's sound better.
People always learn from their mistakes. I jest, of course. :>
I commend the humor!
