But money doesnt go away, it just shifts. Wealth is created a destroyed all the time. If I have destroy my house, I have lost wealth and no one gained it. If I find a new cheaper way to make a wigit I can create wealth faster than other people.
If the Milgram experiment was unethical how is this one different? They replaced the person who was being fake tortured. The ill effects could still be caused to the person who finds out they are willing to harm someone. The person being replaced was in on it in the first place.
Am I missing something? If I'm not I struggle to see how Milgram was unethical.
No, the internet was about sharing information. It was not made with some greater good of the people idea. People just had some stuff the needed to share.
Your computer sitting idol waiting to record a show is not going to use 200 watts. If you have a 200-watt power supply that means that is the max it can output. If you computer isnâ(TM)t doing anything (most of the time unless you record 12 hours of TV a day) nothing will be using power except some fans and they can be setup to slow down when they are not needed.
I don't think ReplayTV is going to be able to take over TiVo's spot in the market unless they are able to offer somthing TiVo doesn't. I guess they are in a tight spot not wanting to get sued, but I think this is a move in the wring direction unless they like being second best.
First, a better login system needs to be implemented so that not just anyone can see a students grade. However, aside from that, as a student, I wish my school had this. I would love to be able to long in every night to see what my grades are and what homework I have.
It sounds to me like Ms is making a superior product - one that allows companies to charge for their software and know that they are going to get paid by everyone who uses it. You guys seem to be upset that ones MS does this no one will want to use other software without this feature. Of course they won't, and why is this a bad thing? MS will offer a something people want, so people will use it.
That about it like this: If you published a book, and you only got paid for that book when someone buys the book. Would you want to sell your book in the store that put magnetic strips on the book to stop people from stealing them, or in the store that does nothing to stop shoplifters?
Ending is better than mending, ending is better thast mending, ending is better ...
This is what they should be advertising. I will now be buying Vista.

adminisphere Words like that make you sounds cool.
WHAT!?
It has nothing to do with the RIAA needing the money. If it's in the law they're entitled to it, period.
The Bible says do not murder, not do not kill.

Maybe the book should come with a 5 1/4 inch floppy instead of a CD, since QBASIC lost its usefulness about the same time as the 5 1/4 inch floppy.

I agree, WinRar is the best zip program for Windows. Hands down.
