    Car windows are tempered glass. You might end up with a few scratches but it's not the bleed out scenario of normal glass.

    One of her campaign was on Chuck Todd this morning. He ran down a list of things Clinton and the Media have blamed the loss on.

    He asked point blank if they ever considered blaming themselves.

    And the answer was the longest possible way to say "No".

    Some people are so inside their own bubble of a bubble they have no clue what is going on. Look at how many staged "OMG Clinton out Grocery shopping" social media things we got.

    It's centered on the keyboard sans num pad, which to me, is where it belongs. With my hands on the home row I can touch it equally with both thumbs. With a centered track pad I'd be resting my right palm on it.

    I build mine for under $1k.

    I found the cheapest base model I could. Then bought the CPU and 1080p monitor separate. Dell has very good repair manuals for their precision lines.

    The new Dell Precision line has a Xeon as an option. For being a 4 year old chip my 3940XM still benchmarks rather well for a fraction of what the new machines cost.

    Someone that needs/wants a 10" ultra portable isn't going to be happy with a 17" mobile workstation.

    I like my Dell M6700 with a i7-3940XM. 32 GB of RAM, 4 hard drives and space for 2x wifi cards. 17" screen. Full keyboard, with number pad. Trackpad and clit mouse (if you're into that). I only wish I could get a higher resolution screen.

    Safety analysis of natural gas vehicles transiting highway tunnel - June 1989

    A safety analysis was performed to assess the relative hazard of compressed natural gas (CNG) fueled vehicles traveling on various tunnels and bridges in New York City. The study considered those hazards arising from the release of fuel from CNG vehicles ranging in size from a passenger sedan to a full size 53 passenger bus. The approach used was to compare the fuel hazard of CNG vehicles to the fuel hazard of gasoline vehicles. The risk was assessed by estimating the frequency of occurrence and the severity of the hazard. The methodology was a combination of analyzing accident data, performing a diffusion analysis of the gas released in the tunnel and determining the consequences of ignition. Diffusion analysis was performed using the TEMPEST code for various accident scenarios resulting in CNG release inside the Holland Tunnel. The study concluded that the overall hazard of CNG vehicles transiting a ventilated tunnel is less than the hazard from a comparable gasoline fueled vehicle. 134 refs., 23 figs., 24 tabs.

    The thing with natural gas is it's *very* picky about stoichiometric ratio. Too much or too little air and nothing happens.

    The danger with LNG is the cryotemps before the 'natural gas' and the danger with CNG is the compressed cylinder more than the natural gas. Both can easily be mitigated.

    Natural gas infrastructure is there, it exists. I cooked dinner with it tonight. Truck OEMs have natural gas trucks on the road right now.

    For who? Are they trying to milk the last owner operators? Walmart quibbles with OEMs over 0.1 MPG claims. The second they can, every single Walmart truck is going to be replaced by an autonomous driver, even if it's just between cities. (Given where most Walmarts are located it'll replace 90% of their need for drivers). They spent a lot of time and money designing something that will never get used by time this hits the market.

    And? Truck OEMs are moving to Natural Gas. Locomotives are too.

    Everyone thought Warren Buffet was crazy buying a rail company in 2009. Turns out that he owns Northern Natural Gas the largest interstate natural gas pipeline system in the United States. Northern Natural Gas' pipeline system stretches across 11 states, from Southern Texas to Michigan's Upper Peninsula, providing access to five of the major natural gas supply regions in North America. (At which point he starts to sound a bit more like Rockefeller).

    10 years ago Natural Gas was a 3rd party add on. Now the engine OEMs are selling it in addition to dual fuel engines (NG/Diesel). That goes for engines for a small tractor up through their largest stationary engines.

    Natural gas is:

    1. Domestic.
    2. Cheap
    3. Run to households in a lot of the US.

    With a tiny compressor you could come home and 'fill up' at night..

    If I was an investor the 2 power sources for vehicles going forward are going to be natural gas & batteries. You cut out a lot of gasoline and diesel refineries. You can run locomotives and semis on natural gas (since batteries alone can't (yet)).

    Hydrogen, in 2016, is a non-starter. First you can't just 'get' it. We're quickly getting an EV grid and the Natural Gas 'grid' is already there.

    Finally it's not about horsepower. Those Semi truck engines "only" pushing a few hundred HP can easily put out more. The Caterpillar D11 bulldozer only has 850 HP. The reason they're de-tuned is they're designed to do that 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for a million miles. You can easy tune them up to easily out do the 1,000 horsepower and 2,000 foot-pounds. [And why geeks that aren't into machinery shouldn't just look at specs like they're computers.]

    By 2020 this is going to look like a dinosaur.

    Look at the prices of well engineered USB-C chargers. They're on par to be the same price. Putting engineering effort into a product costs money.
