The problem is that there is a transaction FEE and a transaction PERCENTAGE on the transaction. The percentage isn't an issue, it's the same whether you buy 800 points of 80 points eight times.
But if you buy the 80 points x 8 the fixed fee is MORE than the 800 points. So MS avoids this by making you buy a minimum number of points, else they loose more money.
really, I think this is a lot about nothing. Eventually the points get spent.
Greater than 100% turnout doesn't necessarily imply that the general voting age population is the denominator - registered voters can also be the denominator.
US government treats foreigners worst than countries like China, Vietnam or Iran
Whatever. I am guessing you have never been here. I wen t through customs today with a foreigner and she was treated as well as I was. If you are talking about how they are treated in a more abstract way.. WHY DO THEY KEEP COMING!!!!
I don't really care for IE7. I wouldn't mind trying Firefix and I have both FF and Safari installed to check compatibility of some of the sites my firm develops.
But the one reason I will absolutely NOT use FF is that when I press ctrl-N, I want a brand new window. I have tabs turned off in IE. I don't care to use tabs. I ant a new window to open up with all the history and current page from the page I am opening it from. Where is that!
One day the US will realize how much its irrational behavior has cost it.
Yes, it has cost us the company of annoying assholes who somehow dislike the fact that we will give extra scrutinty to people whose name are on a alist of known terrorists or who have other qualities tht draw attention, like being a single Muslim male without children.
So please continue to travel to places like (*cough*) Canada and stay out of my country. Thanks. We have enough weak-kneed pussies homegrown as it is.
I think you would enjoy COD4 if you put it on the Veteran setting. You really have to use your brain to figure out how to get through some of the scenarios. The solutions to the helicopter pilot rescue and the end of flashback mission where you have to carry the pilot were particularly challenging.
Taking out the helicopter from the Church in the flashback mission was also a challenge.
Something I've noticed - bands that do well, sell, and are popular don't complain so much about the deals they have gotten. It's the never-was/wannabees/hasbeens that do the whining about the labels.
Something that isn't mentioned in this and in the less-friendly post towards me is the untangible benefits of signing with a label in the way the publicity helps with your concert and merch sales, OR how working with the label's people helps to make your music sound better. Since what most of your concert-goers first encountered of you was a label-production....
Why do artists continue to sign these contracts? Do they not also have the google? Apparently me not knowing 'how stuff works' is a problem for you, but someone in the actual industry not knowing what the contract they sign means isn't their fault?
equate a couple of cells in a petree dish to a human
And that is where we disagree. And I'm sure you can understand this line of thought even if you don't agree with it. It goes to the question of what is a human deserving of human rights. We consider it a unique being with DNA, post-fertilization.
We find this definition has a scientific and ethical clearity that can avoid a lot of the horrors of history that now (most of) humanity regrets based on what counts as a human worthy of protection.
We've found your previous and current standards of tribe/religion/family/ethnicity/sexuality/age/disability/ or simply 'might makes right' distinctions to be unworthy of our species.
So you disagree - so if we are not persuasive, are we at least not 'stupid?'
you don't get to claim this is some kind of victory
To quote Jerry Sienfeld's response when he was told he was not in listed in the top 10 of comedians in the history of America but was instead number twelve, I'll take it.
Ah, no. That's like saying consuming mass makes you fat, as if there is no difference in the result of drinking a kilo of of water versus drinking a kilo of Thai ice tea.
What makes you fat are high glycemic carbohydrates, like potatoe products and sugars.
Your whole comment could have been summarized into one sentence: "I don't undertand that prices are based on the maximum that people are willing to pay and not what the actual product costs to produce, so I am going to whine like a little bitch - after all, this is Slashdot."
On a side note, allowing book stores to have on-demand printing will do a lot to save the industry money and still allow me to have my trusty hardcovers.

How long have you worked for the KGB?

You guys are right - M$ doesn't innovate, it steals ideas from others, now including Commodore Burito!
Ahhhh - it just occured to me what Vivendi might of been thinking when they combined the WB network and UPN into 'the CW.' Thanks.
Why do you abbreviate 'Morse Code' as CW?

Thieving git.
No, you called them stupid, and that was the same thing I said about the restaurants.
Alternatively, you can just buy a TV around that size for around that price anyway.
You know that around 80% of all new restaurants fail in the first year. Maybe you should also boycott the eating industry. Bunch of sleezebags.
I don't see why a third party can't bring this.... or maybe a grey market version. Off to ebay!
Taking out the helicopter from the Church in the flashback mission was also a challenge.
I'm taking a pass on Assasin's Creed, though.

I wasn't disagreeing, I was asking for evidence.

'We' is me, the grandparent, the President, etc.
Prove it.
I'm sure it's all muscle. Like Russle Crow.
True - at least calorically (sp?). Certainly not taste-wise.

You are generally correct about the details - and that is what I did mean (though I was having some fun there).
