The problem is that you don't have to commit a violent crime to be sentenced to death, you merely have to be the most likely suspect when a violent crime has happened. Here in NC we just had someone get out of jail after spending most of his life behind bars because he was wrongly convicted. The only reason he got exonerated was because a cop kept a piece of evidence in his desk that was DNA tested. The test proved that convicted man was innocent. You can let a man serving life in prison free once it is found he has been wrongly convicted, but we have yet to learn how to raise the dead if he has been wrongly executed. You say once you take a life you forfeit all rights. So why do you think it is right for the state to take a life? Do the state in turn forfeit all its rights to govern us?

Square Enix does not want the game to be released due to the fact that it would be in direct competition with their own titles. I'm sure the last thing any company wants is someone creating a product from the company's own material and then give it away free. Each person playing the free version is a gamer who isn't buying a square enix game to play. You really couldn't have expected the company to do otherwise.

I always hate the pushing of the service plans. When I bought a PS2, the clerk asked my repeatedly if I wanted the extended service plan, and each time I said no. Then the manager came up behind her and started pushing the plan, saying things like it was untested technology, and its easy to knock the laser out of alignment, and so on. Finally I got fed up and asked loudly, "So you are telling me you are selling shoddy merchandise?" After that he shut up and walked away. If it breaks, I'll fix it myself. At least that way I know someone isn't going in there to break something else while they try to fix my current problem. Plus, as soon as they ask me now I say, "Anything you push that hard has too high of a profit margin. I'm not interested."

  5. Drop the legacy? on Civilization IV Discussed As GDC Slides Released · · Score: 5, Interesting

"Drop unfun legacy (pollution, rioting, maintenance, corruption/waste)" I will admit that these aspects were not the most fun parts of the game, but they did add to the challenge of trying to balance foreign and domestic affairs. Thats leads me to two different tangents. Games are not interesting if they are not challenging. Sure it may be fun to zip through a simple game once, but you are not going to want to play it again. I have been playing and replaying Civ for 12 years. Secondly, maybe we need to send a copy of Civ to the Whitehouse as a learning tool.

I used the name Satans Third Nipple, but entered my real address to see how long it would take me to get junk mail from the site selling my information. Within a few weeks, I got an email promoting a 'Third-Nipple Family Reunion' and a credit card application for Satans T Nipple.

wireless controllers. Has helped quite a bit. No longer does my dog get tangled in the cords that run from tv to coffee table, or controller cables that run from table to couch. Now the consoles can sit safely on a bookshelf on the other side of the room, with the cables all nicely hidden. My new problem is keeping up with the controllers now, its like keeping up with another remote.

That is what I don't understand, why are they charging more for music online. Almost every other business on the net reduced their prices (Amazon is a good example). The biggest lure of the internet for consumers is reduced prices. It is irresponsible of a industry to expect consumers to pay more for a product if they offer it online.

Maybe it's time to start bombarding the Ubisoft site with helpful hints about what to include in the next Heroes version. I'm sure they would love all the help. I'm for putting the ghosts back in as troops, there was nothing better than an army of thousands of ghosts to give one a god complex.

  11. Ubisoft on Microsoft, UbiSoft, Namco Buy 3DO Assets · · Score: 2, Interesting

I don't know if Ubisoft buying Might and Magic is a good thing, I haven't been wowed by any of their titles that I have played. I'm insanely addicted to Heroes, and have been kind enough to spread that addiction to many others. I was disheaterned to hear 3DO had gone bankrupt. Hopefully Ubisoft will do justice to the franchise.
