Your logic has me confused. A man makes a damning statement about documents he has never seen, specifically pointing out that names and dates were wrong. Without seeing the documents how would Mr. Wilson even know whos names and what dates were wrong?
Joe Wilson's main claim to fame was that there were indescrepencies with the dates and what not of the documents and that therefore they were fake/forged whatever.
But as you said, if he in fact never saw the documents how could he have known there were any indescrepencies? You've answered your own question but go read the site anyway, it has all the tasty bits you need.
FYI: Joe Wilson testified to congress that he in effect lied about having any knowledge from Niger as he wasn't even there until 8 months after the entire episode and documentation took place. Therefore his statments reguarding yellow cake are false.
It made the Washington Post but no where else...wonder why?
"Its bad that people with morals vote for bush, but I won't say why. Random stat I found somewhere to make my point. No we didn't ask. Huge generalizaion about what christians might do. Lies, exagerations and impossible scenarios.
I think that anyone voting for Bush is an idiot, even though I don't really know why. Insult to those who follow a stong belief in God, and more lies. Finally a tip of the hat to geeks to get modded up."
This is a troll, is not funny, and not even close to a real cohiesive thought. So you hate Bush, and you hate people who believe in God...bad news friend, they out number you.
Bush isn't screwing the environment. Any reduction in CO2 output in this country is fruitless against the output of most of Asia, and African countries. Oh and one volcano erruption and its all over, you people are idiots to believe any of this mumbo jumbo.
Bush cut taxes, perhaps you forgot. Draft, good luck, the christian right would probably be the first ones against it. I never really did like canada or mexico anyway.
I realize of course that there will always be SOMTHING to gain from things like this.
What stymied me was the sudden turn around in two days that looks a lot like a PR move.
I watched the prelanding interviews on several cable stations and these guys seriously got white and scared looking when asked about a possible crash, they knew, and still know that it would mean failure.
Now we have cheerful guys saying no problem, the bits are just smaller, and the dust isn't so bad!
I think we probably got about $1 million in research for the $260 spent but no one wants to admit it. Thats all fine and dandy with me, just let me know so next time we can say...give them $300 million to make sure the damn thing lands safely.
Ok so Intel has, until recently, held the market share of processors. Because of this they have been able to keep processor prices high, knowing that people will pay. Hence they have a small monopoly, and are kicking consumers arounds. INTEL BAD!
Enter AMD. Everyone likes to root for the underdog! GO TEAM! Now AMD has made some strides into and over Intel's market share. Soon they may even topple Intel. Where does that leave the consumer? We still have a small monopoly controlled by one company. You can't tell me that given enough time AMD won't become the next Intel with high prices in a locked market./.ers do this constantly, yea small guy, boo big guy. Then the tables turn and we are back to cheering the new small guy. Pick a side and stick with it please.
Not to be too tinfoil hatted here but how can we believe anything they are saying?
Who is going to verify their findings? What if this is all just some smoke and mirror news stories now so we all thing "yea they'll get something for the $260 million spent" only to never ever hear about it again.
Before the thing even entered the atmosphere we had JPLers saying ANY crash would destroy the experiments. Well we got 200+ mph into the earth, split open, dust everywhere, broken little bits but everything is going to be A OK.
Rush didn't make the quote Kerry did, it was merely his network that allowed it to be heard, somthing CNN or MSNBC would never have the journalistic guts to do.
The point is Kerry is all over the place for and against the war depending on who he's talking to, and what he believes the popular opinion is.
"Even a strongly anti-war person would have to be insane, stupid or cruel to vote to cut off funding once the war has started."
Kerry did exactly this.
"Funding a war that's already in progress is not the same as starting that war. If you think it is, well I guess you don't speak English."
No matter what he says today Kerry voted to give the president the ability to go to war, then he voted to not support the war, but is quoted on a TV interview saying he'd spend as much as it takes to win the war. I speak and understand english fine, its what I'm hearing that has me confused.
Will I for one hope this story turns out to be false. I have been watching Ken play for the last 20 shows. While it will be nice to see him continue for many more, it sucks knowing that on the 75th show he will lose.
I think standard spoiler methods should have applied here. Perhaps a "Has Ken Jennings met his match!?! Spoilers inside!"
However with the current state of/. I can't say I didn't expect somthing like this.
Rush played a sound byte today of Kerry being interviewed in August of 2003 when Bush was asking for 200billion for Iraq.
I can't give you the exact quote (you could probably get it off rush's site) but in effect he says "200 billion? Spend whatever we need to in order to get the job done!"
If thats not a position of support for the war AFTER his vote in 2001, then I must not be speaking english.
"Somehow I doubt you'd be saying this if the records supported your version of the story."
What the hell does that mean? The records (that we have so far) do support me. If all these vets are lieing why doesn't Kerry just release the rest of his military records and show the whole world the "truth." Why doesn't he do that? Why let this long drawn out charade go on any longer if in fact he can prove all of the swifties wrong?
What is the point of making yourself look like a complete fraud if you know your not, and have paper to prove it?
He doesn't have the paper, he's lied so many times he probably doesn't even know what the real truth is. All he can do now is try and surround himself with people willing to backup his lies (also without proof) and claim that Bush is slinging mud.
I call bull shit, now show me the hand he's holding face down.

"Take your rather bizarre belief that Kerry, his boatmates, the Navy and everybody *but* the SBVFT are lying about what happened in Vietnam. Obviously, you couldn't believe this slander if you'd bothered to research any of the evidence -- the first hand accouts, the Navy's records, the previous statements of some of the SBVFT who have suddenly changed their stories --"
Really?
First hand accounts: There are at least three different stories told by Kerry himself about his own actions in Vietnam, none of them line up with any other first handers, and most are 180 degrees off. Several other first-handers have changed their stories in the last few weeks as well. Who do we believe is telling the truth?
The Naval officer who's signature appears on Kerry's star doesn't remember ever issuing the commendation. What? The Navy lie!?! Thats unpossible.
We haven't been able to look at the records of these events because Kerry refuses to release his military records to the public.
The SBVFT have opened themselves up to heavy litiagtion should they acutally be lieing.
So tell me, whats more believable, that 200+ people are willing to risk their good names, and possibly fortunes to get Bush elected, or Kerry is hiding somthing?
Until the records come out, and the investigations are completed we'll never know.
I'm pretty sure the documentary I watched about crab fishing on Discovery the other night was "unbiased". Though I guess they didn't compare and contrast crab fishing with say salmon fishing so yea, it was biased against salmon.
Oh wait, they aren't the same thing you say? Right, Moore's film is an Op Ed piece, not a documentary.
Run out of resources in less than 100 years? Please.
The sun has roughly 3 billion years left to burn at its current output. I do not belive that losing the shuttle program today, in 2004, will in any way affect our drive to explore space and other stars. Hell, we could sit on our hands for a billion years and still have 2 billion years to play around Alpha Centari.
+5 insightful mods? Good lord, its time to move on.
My god I think I love you! I have been wanting to make my own binary clock for the last couple months. So far I haven't been able to find a suitable circut. Would it be possible for you to send me your design?
I don't think I would build it into a HDD but the designe seems simple enough to make.
Is the IC a PIC or somthing different? Hard to make out in the photo.
Hmm, strangly enough I heard those figures on a rather well informed talk radio morning show a few months ago. They caught me by surprise then too. Granted I didn't go to the USDE to compare facts and figures but your point is well taken.
Sorry for the trolling, I'll make sure to do some better research before regurgitating radio info.
Correction: Bush doesn't support spending government dollars on Stem Cell research. Nothing wrong with that, let the free market work. Why is it the government/tax dollars job to bring about all medical research...why can't we make some of the large drug companies spend some of the billions of dollars we've guarenteed them with patents and import restrictons?
Also, the US has increased educational spending by over 4 billion dollars since Bush was elected, more so than Clinton did in 8 years. Its not Bush's policy that is failing, it's the popular belief that ++$$$ == ++smarts. Unfortunatly every time someone comes around with an idea about how to change the educational system (which usually includes cuts) all the moms in the world scream that their child is being left behind.
I graduated HS in 1996 from a school of 2500 students. We had 1 principal, 2 vice principals and 2 counselors. Everyone was happy and the school did very well. That same school, with the same population now has 2 principals 4 vice principals and 6 coulselors and is doing very poorly both grade and behavior wise....Why?
Uhh..yea, you have the right to free expression of opinion but there are no rights guarenteeing you a spot on my lawn to shout it. Nor are there any rights that I even have to listen to it.
For the record the CITY setup the free speech zones and forced the protestors in there for "safty." It went to court and a judge ruled that the right to protest does not preclude the right of the city to protect its citizens in the best way it knows how.
Besides, who protests at the DNC? People who love oil and smog?
1) The owners of those plants are so heavily leveraged, subsidized, and given tax writeoffs that they can actually make money by losing money.
Are you telling me you actually believe that Shell oil would spend money (billions) to lobby for laws and requirements just to keep a dieing tech rolling? You believe that if there were money to be made in solar power Shell would ignore it just to continue losing money in oil? Sorry pal, doesn't pass the sniff test.
2) Technology advance or limitation has very little effect on market price. Batteries have been around forever and yet it still costs me $4 for two AA batteties at Super America...why? Certianly not because we haven't had any technological advances in batteries since 1950...
3) My last commet was more of a general rant against many responses blaming all our problems on the big oil companies and Bush. To be fair you wrongly assume that Oil companies could not make any money from solar power and therefore would do everything in their power to stop it from coming forth. Thats the old "Horse Carriage company sues the Govmn't for letting Ford make cars" arguement. Its a bunch of BS.

The exact same thing was true for AMD back in the early 486 and pentium days.
AMD was producing CLONED CRAP x86 chips based on Intel's design. I believe it even went to court.
There is no winner, without competition.
Round 345 goes to AMD
The previous scores have kindly been forgotten.

Isn't this akin to one drug dealer stealing from another? It's not like he/she can call the police to report drugs being stolen from them.
Nore could you really complain that in your act of piracy your home directory got fscked.
I don't like it, but it does seem to be a good way to keep the hands out of the cookie jar.
