LMFAO! Dude, that's the funniest shit I've read here in a while. Of course people are complaining now, being self-righteous pedants is starting to bite them in the ass. When you tell someone that the crux of your job should be done for free, they're eventually gonna take you up on the offer.
Capitalism is no worse than any other economic structure. Check out the history of Socialist and Communist goverments over the years. The strength of Capitalism is exactly what you're bitching like a little girl about. The answer to a problem in a Capitalist society is easy. You just don't buy it. But what if it's the goverment perpetrating the bullshit you don't like, and you are COMPLETELY RELIANT on them for practically everything (Hellooooooooo, Communism!)?
Also, you're making the assumtion that everyone that has ever ran a business is an immoral, greedy, self-centered asshole. I don't think I need to point out how stupid that is, but I will. It's stupid.
But if it's pretty damn obvious that they can do your job just as well, with less formal education, coming from a gutter in Calcutta... what does that say about your dumb ass that got fired in favor of him? You might want to think your logic through before you press the Submit button.
That's the closest one, but that's not it. This site had a ton of crap, and it was all collected by the one guy. Not all user submitted. Good stuff at this one though. Thanks for the link.:D
This is a bit off-topic, but a while back I came across a site where the dude criticised the usability of everyday things, such as doors and elevator buttons, and so on. I thought it was the most anal crap in the world until I found out he was actually a usability expert.:) Anyone happen to know the site I'm thinking of?
Yeah, that's some fucked up stuff. Not surprising there's a large Japanese contingent. Are there any languages that are worse for translating into English?
No, developers are just trying to make something that's FUN TO PLAY. How many tabletop wargames set in WWII incorporate concentration camps? Few, if any. The focus is on the combat, not the surrounding political entanglements.
His point was that the best games usually have simple mechanics.
"How does this ball keep its momentum?"
If I had to guess, I'd say that it's because it's IN A VIEO GAME. Then again, that's only the blindingly obvious answer and I may be missing something.;-)
Lets hope it does. That way we can see SCO fall through the trapdoor unexpectedly and break both its legs when it hits the ground. Then they can get some more rope and hang them afterwards. >:D
The way you were talking it made it sound as if the author was intentionally trying to mislead the reader. You might not have intended it that way, but that's how it came across.
Guitarists have these things called hands, which are used to mute strings not meant to be played. Using a bow is no different than using a pick. You want only one not to sound, you mute the other strings with your fretting hand.
Guitar fingerboards are curved, although not to the extent of violins or cellos. Older Fenders had a 7" fingerboard radius, but most modern guitar have a radius somewhere around 12-14".
I built a guitar from various parts I had laying around (I'm a guitar tech by day). Nothing all that special, although it sounds quite nice. I'm about to embark on the next logical step of building my own guitar from scratch. Should be fun.
Uh... you do realise that you can play any musical instrument that has strings with a bow, right? There are even classical pieces based around bowed guitar. Yeah, fishing line sounds fucked up. That's the whole point.
Industry protection seems to be a matter more of political convenience than economic necessity.
Well, not shit. Why do you think most subsidies are to farmers in the frickin' midwest? SWING VOTES.
Of course not. You obviously don't care that if has a job. Fuck you.

Oh gawds, don't gimme that crap.

No shit? So you mean that it's based almost entirely on race? Wow! I never would have guessed! Who would have thought?
That smell is the sarcasm burning. I think it's time to take it out of the oven.

Of course they are. Probably at the request of SCO's executives. The longer it goes on, the higher SCO's stocks are creeping...

Or maybe the paper he's citing isn't online? Could it be that? Maybe? Possibly?
Hey stupid! I brought you this stuff! I mean, I made you this veggie burger...

Septic tank... '76 Pinto... same thing.
It's just a bunch of junk. Nothing very mysterious. I was expecting jade pyramids and slate monoliths, not a '78 Pinto. :\
When you're less credible than the people responsible for DNF, you know you're in trouble. ;-)

If they get sufficiently small and cheap the battery companies will adapt. They make rechargables, yet disposables are still more popular.
The individual pages are NOT horribly formatted, they are NOT formatted at all
Which is kind of the point. Plain HTML is ass ugly, end of story.
