I'll beleive this is happening when I see IE (on PC and Mac) go below 95% on counters for websites.
IE may be a dinosaur, but this "Browser War" idea is becoming a relic along with it.
I disagree with your last point. I found it that when I was new to linux and had questions to ask that there were many friendly communities and people to help me out.

1) The SPA no longer exists and thus cannot give permission to do anything. The copyright is now held by some other group that does the same thing (in otherwords, they changed their name).
I don't know copyright law that well, but I imagine this one just doesn't work the way you are describing.
2) Clearly slashdot has posted that for ridicule, not for "promoting the ethical and legal use of software.".
It was posted for humor, but many serious issues in life can be considered humorously. While that video is freaking funny now, and fun to ridicule, it does cover all the arguements for anti-piracy.
Your third point, yes could be argued, but who cares?
This is my first post even though I have read slashdot for a very long time now. These posts I have been reading in reply are rather disturbing, while I have fun and laugh at many trolls and such around, the excessive offtopic posting is just lame. Please stop, don't ruin slashdot by making every reply offtopic.
To the actual issue here, while this news isn't much, I am impressed by the technical ability of this guy. I am trying to learn about some of that stuff myself.
I completly agree, and don't know why you were only given a score of 1, this is one of the few relavent replies I see.

my question for you then is, why are you hanging around here if you think slashdot is such a peice of crap?
