    Every member of congress that I know of is bought by at least one large corparation. I dont see any outcry over that.

    People accept it as how it works these days.

    They wont risk having legacy programs broken.

    I'm sure Microsoft could come up with a kick-ass OS, but they cant because of the HUGE base of programs which depend on the 9x/NT framework.

    He is the richest man on earth. He could buy single-handedly every member of congress. He could buy alot any company on earth, by himself. He could buy Walmart and fire everyone (I think, and I wish he would).

    The power he wields is unimanginable.

    Microsoft would not be able to due to the amount of freeware around. I replace alot of things on my computer, even notepad with a more able program (metapad). Give me a bare Windows install without all the crap and I can make it into a highly customized, stable platform.

    Many web sites in their registration forum require this. However, when you right click > properties on many websites the name of the word itself is in the address! This would easily be used by anyone with a clue about writing a bot.

    I suggest you try it out on your website.

    Which is a shame. Money is blinding.

    I own stocks, lots of them, lots of money, but I feel GOOD about investing in Google. Ethics is something I take into account when I invest.

    Many projects I work on managers tell us almost nothing about what they want. With the descriptions they give it could be a game that involves you moving packages from one rabbit to another.

    It's not the grunts, its the managers who have no idea what they are doings, and we wonder what the hell they are doing in IT.

    Good point. I don't know how foam would travel at 700mph, I think the atmosphere makes that impossible.

    Not everything has to be opensource you know. Many programs these days have very good plugin systems which removes the need for a developer to opensource it.

    Many files are in full HDTV quality (700mb files). You must not be looking around.

    Anyone who trys linux for the first time when setting up MythTV is put off. It's a freaking NIGHTMARE to get mythTV to work witt anything. MythTV has not even been updated for a whole year.
