I purchase jugs of spring water because I like the taste. I pay $2.50 for a large (25L) container when refilling it myself from the depot. There's a free spring near where I work as well which a lot of people pull over to fill from, but I'd have to get the water tested myself before using it.
As many economists will say, something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. That said, Wipeout HD is a great bang for the buck and could have easily sold in stores for twice its PSN price, in my opinion.
Besides, most people have made it clear over the last 30+ years of ubiquitous television viewing that they'd rather suffer advertisements than pocket money, so I dare say raising the price would be more of a shot to the foot than including some advertising.
If you chargeback Sony for an online purchase they will probably ban your PSN account, they've said it before repeatedly. The terms of service are very very clear for the PSN store -- all purchases are final, no refunds.
I don't like that policy myself, but I signed up for it and it makes me think before I purchase things.
Do you want to define gamers as a demographic please? You'll probably find they line up very well with first or second time home buyers and often have disposable incomes to purchase other insurable items like cars.
What's the problem exactly? There's already been advertising in games for a long time (not the least of which are sports titles, and the Burnout series' billboards). If the ads stand out or are in poor taste, then the game will suffer. If they don't, or they're well targeted, then who cares?
Except that if you buy a CD, you do legally own the CD and until it melts, the right to play it on any CD player you like. The rights given to you by the DRM contract imply that you should be able to do the same with purchased DRM'd music so long as you follow their rules (iPod only, etc.)
I'm pretty sure its false advertising in many states/countries at the very least. Last I checked, DRM'd music was sold to the user without time limits and with the common expectation of being able to play the music at all.
Judges aren't stupid either, I'd love to see the first judge who hears someone claim in court that they sold you something they weren't planning to allow you to use.
Remember, this is the seller not permitting the buyer from using the purchased product and has nothing to do with the music itself timing out or your MP3 player dying.
I keep my entire home directory's configuration files in version control to be honest. Of course, I'm probably considered not quite sane either, but I don't have the 'doh' moment of having destroyed a working configuration as often either.
The number of times I've used the macroing feature in VIM, regex search & replace, etc. and enjoyed each feature being only a keystroke or two away is much higher than the number of times I've ever wished I could highlight text with a mouse (for which I find 'v' is faster at any rate).
For those who don't understand, tell me how you mouse-highlight exactly 420 lines of text with a mouse in less than two seconds.
Whereas I'll move from computer to computer (home, work, etc.) and reconnect to my running screen sessions to look in on things that are going on or drop an idea that popped into my head then disconnect again.
screen may very well be the most useful productivity tool I have, and I sincerely wish I had an option other than vncserver to accomplish the same thing in a GUI.
You're confused between the GPL and BSD-like licenses. The GPL creates an environment that would not and could not exist without the licensing requirements of Copyright.
Juries are a result of believing in actual democracy, that is to say, what the people believe to be true simply is true as a result of them agreeing on it.
This isn't always fair, and this isn't always equitable, but it is the American way. In all honesty, I'd rather be tried by a judge alone in most cases I can think of anyway.
Because the definition of offence requires one to be offended. If the man were offended, the woman would be in the wrong. As most men wouldn't be, most of the time the woman wouldn't be in the wrong.
Because of this, and the fact that the code is open, its going to be a lot easier...
Unlike Linux or Gnome itself, or Metacity? We're talking about open source or free software here, its all got exposed code, and it all gets checked for bugs by both malicious and kind-hearted persons from time to time.
If you're saying that WebKit is more popular than Linux itself and will therefore attract a few extra eyes, I'd bet you're wrong but either way its pretty close. The problem you should have is with WebKit being fairly new in comparison, not with it being open.
And a simple grep against their document archive would still be smart.

I used one of those myself :-)
In fact, I still mostly design HTML with VIM over WebDAV.

Wipeout HD is $20. Tell me that isn't cheap enough already to be permitted some ad revenue.

Personally I'm thoroughly enjoying the expansion.

Personally it would be funnier to leave the 'Designed for Windows XP' sticker alone and place a 'But running a real OS instead' sticker next to it.
Thinkgeek.com should start selling some of those (in the small metallic glossy format typical of such things).

Just to be a jerk myself for a moment, what entitles her to any of the $2.5 million he earned as a lawyer and through his investments anyway?

I understand putting another API above SQL to make it simpler to use, but avoiding using SQL because its powerful makes no sense.
Uber doesn't mean 'above' in popular parlance, its an absolute measure of greatness. Therefore 'uber' cheap would refer to more cheapness.
Although it also has some of the best external documentation both for existing features and PEPs.
You completely failed the 'x is to y as a is to b' concept there, so I won't dignify your question with a response.
That said, you can name anyone you like as a defendant, judges work out the guilty or not.

Most people are offended by words, and there's nothing wrong with that.
I'd like to point out that just as talk therapy can cause real bio-chemical changes to the brain, insults and the like can too.
Seriously, you're confused:

If you can't figure out why one is offensive and the other isn't, you're a moron.
Thanks for trying out though.
