XCF file format offers all of the capabilities of Photoshop's native format,
without the encumberances of that proprietary product.
this is simply not true. because OS X does not conform to the filesystem hierarchy standard, a lot of GNU-style software won't build for OS X without invasive modifications, and will often install brokenly. setting --prefix is usually not enough.
until OS X shows major improvements in the area of FHS compliance, it's not an operating system that i would find useful for my work.
we deploy a multi-billion dollar satellite navigation system orbiting in space... we develop super-powerful, pocket-sized receivers to interface with this system... and THIS is what you do with it? hide CANDY in the woods and post about it on your blog?
