Sure, 'OLD' media controls the advertising and programing, content, what we see and hear throughout our day....but it is increasingly user generated content that is beyond big media's grasp. Websites, blogs, instant messaging, it's all User generated and unfiltered (for now). Everyone in the world today has the technology to block 99.9% of all advertising, tracking software, bypass firewalls, to have greater control over their own exposure and experiences. To be sure, the corporate and governmental PsyOps to control our buying and media consumption habits are pervasive and unrelenting, however each of us has the power to take control. The choice is ours.
Apple just has so much cash that they are indifferent to paying hundreds of lawyers and suing everyone they can. Most of these companies have less cash on hand combined than Apple!
That's the nature of the world for you . You have to pick your side. The side of freedom and democracy, or the side of terror, tyranny, and dictatorship.
Say what you want, but the US has always fought the good fight.
Iran is beyond the law, a pariah state, a rouge state. Their fate is sealed if they continue to develop nuclear weapons. Expect further attacks into 2012.
This is one of those add-ons that on the surface seems clever and useful, until you realize that it would be more of a hassle to use when you need it than if you didn't have it in the first place. Disregarding the fact that putting this on your iPad completely ruins the aesthetic (really? We want our iPad to look like a Tandy?), one would be pulling the keyboard on and off every minute or so. This annoyance is compounded by the fact that the iPad interface is not built around a physical keyboard. So you use this to write a simple email, then you have to rip it off when the screen changes.oh thats annoying. Crapgadget.
Sorry to say, but in the western democracies of the world, the vast majority of politicians and business leaders are not Mensa members. We have the answers now, we just need to tweak a few policies. No 'mensa geniuses' necessary
HUMANS chop down all the forests, HUMANS divert the flow of water on a geologic scale, HUMANS alter local weather patters through massive emissions of pollutants. See a pattern?
Everyone with half a brain knows there is climate change happening. We have significantly more data than 10 years. In fact, NASA just launch their most advanced climate satellite last week that will give us thousands of terabits of data per DAY! --- not that any of this will mean much to deniers of the scientific process such as yourself.
Not unlike say, the Hudson Bay Company or East India Company. How long until the corporations get their own private armies of mercenaries and start waging wars of attrition over market share? Oh wait....
You're against spending any more money on space exploration yet you offer no logical reasons for this. Space has shown to be immensely profitable, we have hundreds of satellites up there, orbiting the earth, providing vital roles to keep our modern world going. The potential for energy generation and mineral extraction are tantalizing. Thanks to Virgin Galactic and other private ventures, in the next five years, we are going to have more humans go to space than we have had in the past fifty years! A Luddite such as yourself would probably deride tourism, but that doesn't change the fact that this is positively groundbreaking! You yourself may lack the vision and fortitude to tackle the challenges of space exploration and exploitation, but thankfully there are many individuals out there who are up to it.

That's only about 2 weeks in Iraq/Afghanistan.
The medium is the message.
They won't help censor the web because that would interfere with them spying on their users.
Compared to airplane travel, would several hundred rocket launches a year really contribute that much more pollution?

Or maybe not. Actually I would be more in favor of releasing wave after wave of bats. Fruit bats preferably, they're cute!
When will people get it?
Dude, don't jinx it!
...will quickly make up for the several hundred dollar difference. Nook owners ain't gettin no nookie!
It tolls for thee!
I must agree. If one cannot write a poem properly they shouldn't even bother.
Last week that should increase weather accuracy from 5 to 7 days. That is progress!

It must be true!!
It will mean more forest fires, which are very damaging. Not to mention more drought for the prairies. The ecosystems are quite delicate.
Would be rather fitting if the iPhone helped along a revolution for freedom.
