  1. Re:Future looks bright on iTunes Music Store sells 275,000 Tracks in 18 Hours · · Score: 1

Allright some one gets it. For a musician that sounds better then then the pennies they would make on a normal CD. But who would produce their music and how would they pay for that producer. Also there needs to be some kind of marketing web buisnesses that handle publicity. As a amateur musician these are questions I always ask myself and others.

Ok, lets do it. We need a clear mandate and clear detailed list of how we propose change in the DMCA. I'll sign up for it and help spread the word and bring other Technocrats to the fold. We embrace technology and do not shun it. Put me on the list.

  3. Re:Death of the industry... on New Online Music Push by EMI · · Score: 1

Yes cutting out the middle man is one of the key concepts we need to inform the people about. As an artist I know this is the only way. The only other thing left is the marketing. I see artist hosting their own content and then hiring marketing firms to advertise for them. This would be excellent way to conduct business but I think down the line marketing firms would then become the new middle man if artist kept picking the same company for their advertising needs. Well if I know the problem, I as a musician can avoid it. Anyone care to start up a web marketing firm with me for new artist? I think something like this would be the last hurdle for empowering the artist.

Keep getting further and further away. I look up at the night sky and like everyone else see stars as specks of light, pretty but ultimately useless... I assure you that I didn't think this way when I was a kid.

Yep had the same idea a few years back. True physics in game would be stunning. I would lobby for it if need be.

  6. Thank You on Intel's P4 3GHz w/ 800MHz Bus & Canterwood Chips · · Score: 1

If Joe Smoe can't use it then nobody else needs it either. I always hated that idea. Thanks for mentioning my field. I'm into music production and that's one area that will always need more power. In order to run high end pro reverbs a great deal of CPU power is needed. I never seem to have enough and the native reverbs never seem to be as good as the dedicated boxes from TC Works or Lexicon. If the CPU power is there then someone will find a use for it.
