If this works, then Apple might crap its pants. Really though, the concept of an ultra-compact, cube computer has been around for a while...this is just the PC manifestation. Maybe this could inspire Apple to re-release the Cube...
The problem with the cube wasn't technology or willing customers. It was last of customers willing to pay MORE than Apple's already inflated prices for a computer that does less than their regular offering. If Apple released a G5 Cube for $999 they would have more trouble keeping those in stock than the iPod-Mini. But Apple being Apple would release it at $1,999.
I have yet to find anyone on the planet SATISFIED with their cell phone service (certainly not on slashdot, aka bitch-about-everything-dot).
Well I LOVE my Verizon service. Great coverage and Internet access for my Lapto that only charges as a normal call. My wife and I did Cingular for a few years while doing the L.D. relationship thing because of unlimited free moble to moble. Finding out in the process that Cingular disconnects your calls right at two hours give or take a few seconds. That is ifyou are lucky enough to have it last that long.
We took a 38 state road trip last summer with our Verizon phones and in the process NEVER had no signal and only were roaming once while in the middle of nowhere in Texas.
Another great win for corperate America!!!
And don't forget the F.U.D. that will be spread about any opensource that does come out. How do you know that Wheat is safe to eat without Wheat 2.0 Update?

True, since currently there is no retail version of MainActor even from Main Concept, just this Preview/Beta.
I'm just using this opportunity to voice with my cash that I do want a non-Windows easy to use video editor on my X86 hardware. iMovie/FinalCutPro are nice, but I'd rather not sell my car to buy a Mac to use those apps.
For me it has been to get a distro that looked as good and was as easy to use (for me atleast) as Windows. The fact that the Pro version includes the only usable DV Editor software for Linux IMHO is also a nice bonus.
Basically I'm just a USA consumer voting with my $$$. That being the only vote that seems to count anymore.
Looks like just more of Novell moving SUSE in the direction of its own vision. Ximan Desktop, Exchange connector, GPL of Yast, etc. This isn't really that much of a shock. Though, it is another welcome change.
