    Printing XML will require you to first convert XML (in some arbitary format) to (X)HTML - this is something CSS cannot do.

    You need XSL to convert XML to HTML/PDF or any other format for printing.

    You're right, the set of spyware tools tested is not among the best or even popular ones.

    He should have tested these:

    * Ad-Aware from Lavasoft
    * Pest Patrol from Computer Associates
    * Spy Sweeper from Webroot Software
    * McAfee AntiSpyware from Network Associates
    * Spyware Blaster from Javacool software

    If Windows can't secure it, why should Google?

    That's a good argument, but then Google forces you to install the Desktop search tool from an administrative account - so that it can access all the files?

    I would recommend turning off the web cache search feature - and never install the Desktop on a public machine.

    If you had GMail, you could just look for the oldest mail in your inbox - the 'Welcome to GMail' mail since you don't delete mails.

    If you have Hotmail, well - life sucks!

    .. and still 2 MB - and they count spam in the total size of your account!!

    Only reason I still have it is because this was my first web e-mail account and too many people have the address.

    Good to see GMail forcing others to upgrade :)

    Why should this article be anti-windows? Both Windows and Linux don't have good support for large fonts on hihg-res displays. This is an opportunity to improve not only Lunix but also Windows - which incidently most of use use on a daily basis! I don't think most people care what OS they are using as long as they are browsing the web or reading e-mail.

    I feel that most Slashdot articles (like this one) are Linux biased - this does not make the discussion better but moves the focus away from the topic under discussion (accessibility in this case) and instead focusses on a Linux-Windows argument.

    Oops! I'll stop now.. I think I'm starting a different discussion myself!

    I just use my cell phone now for all voice calls and connect to the internet thru Cable. Sprint cell phone service is not too good, but they are cheap with my company discount..

    Got a good international dialing plan with a calling card kind of provider (Cytus) where the phone number and pin number (you choose it) remain the same and they charge your credit card / bank account periodically. Now net2phone also offers this service.

    This is the best, anyway I wasn't using my landline phone much - just got junk marketing calls! I save $25-30 every month.

    Not really.

    It's possible to prevent java code from being decompiled. This can be done using Obfuscation of the code - basically converts the code so that it is more difficult to decompile (but not impossible).
    The names of the variables and functions could be changed by such a tool to make it difficult to understand a program - as if it's already not difficult to understand without any comments.

    How does making the application server side help in office applications? These are inherently GUI based applications with the focus on WYSIWYG. Why J2EE, all J2EE would do is save the files?
