We were one of the beta testers for "32 bit Windows" back in 1993 / 1994..... this later became Windows 95 of course. As we did computer animations for television, we copied large numbers of files on a regular basis. We noticed that the Windows 32 machines locked up after two hundred or so files and dutifully reported it to Microsoft.
They still haven't fixed it. I dare you to try and copy 20,000 or more files from one hard drive to another on a Windows XP machine. Go on.... I'll wait.
On the other hand, my Macbook Pro (thank GOD I finally dumped Microsloth!) easily copied over 100,000 files the other day with no issues, no lock-up, no BS.
So the astoundingly stupid Microsoft work-around is to open a command prompt and use XCopy for large numbers of files... which is obviously much easier than fixing the actual bug... I say the work around is to use a different OS.
Waaaayyyyyyyy back in the day we had a client purchase a very expensive system to run his business. His secretary (that's what we called them way back then) entered all the accounting info into the system each day and saved to a 5.5 floppy.
So they call and tell us that the data isn't saving. We go out and confirm that it is . . . did a save, did a read, you know.
Next morning they call - disc is blank. So we go out and start working through the dailly process. Secretary enters some data (not all of it, that would take hours), saves it to the disc and ejects it from the drive. We put the disc back in and read the data . . . again.
We ask her where she stored her discs and she says, "right here on the filing cabinet." She then proceeds to pull out a big industrial magnet and *THUNK* STICKS THE FUCKING DISC TO THE FILING CABINET!
That's when I lost my faith in humanity and decided to hate everyone I meet.
Actually, if you bothered to read the songwriter credits Kidd Rock credits Zevon as well as the writer of Sweet Home Alabama. As such, these Copyright holders are being paid songwriter royalties for the music he used as part of his work.
There is absolutely no reason an independant musican (like me) couldn't do the same thing.
Unless of course he was just looking for a reason to be whiny and ticked off (like you).
You should at least have a basic understanding of Copyright law before you start the, ". . . so-and-so gets specials treatment and the big bad record companies are all out to get me" crap.

I ditched Windoze for good last year and will not go back. Would be cool if Google could compile this for OS X or Linux.

But that's just me. YMMV

I'm going to paint my phone with it (grin)
