Jesus fucking christ this is the stupidest thing I've ever seen.

They don't even have power, water, food, an infrastructure, etc. set up and we have to go in there and pwn them with our corporations.

Now that we've liberated them we can treat them as badly as american citizens. We can hold them indefinitely without charging them. We can burden them with frivolous lawsuits. Hell why don't the corporations just sue everyone in Iraq for being Iraqi. I'm sure being Iraqi is gonna be copyrighted soon.

It's searching through your cache for e-mail addresses and grabs text from any of those pages.

For those of you unlucky enough to have visitors to your page you probably already obfuscate your e-mail address. If not I'd suggest using some javascript to build your e-mail address for you:

Of course, I hope someone actually manages to read this as late as I am posting it... Imagine you've got shelves and shelves filled with books at your house. Now each of these books is fitted with "a lock" and you must pay some corporation for the "key" so that you may open the book and read it.

However under the DMCA certain restrictions apply:
    • You cannot leave the book propped open, this would circumvent you having to purchase another key to unlock the book again.
    • You cannot copy pages out of the book to read at a later date or share with anyone, this would circumvent you having to purchase another key or anyone else to purchase a key.
    • You cannot let anyone read over your shoulder because they did not purchase a key.
    • You cannot scan the book because then you wouldn't have to purchase a key again.

Sure, you'll want to break that lock off of the book after the 1st time that book slams shut when you get up to pour another cup of coffee but well, the DMCA says, "Suck it up and buy another key, little man, my porsche needs a tune-up."

If the DMCA is not stopped every man, woman and child can expect to have a library of locked books, DVD's, CD's, VHS tapes, Cassette tapes, records, etc. that they cannot use.

You can even prosecute those parents for reading the books to their children! Since the children would have to pay for a key themselves to have any access to the content on those books. Seriously, what does access control have to do with copyrights? Is it not enough that we pay for the material? Do we have to pay to access the material once we own it?

Copyright laws are to govern what you do with the material as it involves other people, not what you do with the material all by yourself.
